I was dead set on the 17" gun metal TRD wheels but with all the fitment issues with them dealerships around here are pushing the 16" TRD wheels for later model Tacomas.

I would prefer C load but yes, 16" BFGs only come in E range. I believe duratracs are C?

Looks are important. If they weren't I'd get Michelin LTXs. Best tire ever except they look so....wimpy?

I thought these are the ONLY option?

I guess that's the root of my question. Before I buy the E tire, what are some good C tires in 16"?

As much as I like the overall design and the compound feels good have you checked the weight on those tires?

Agreed, the weight of those tires really turned me away.

When a 295/70r17 baja boss weights the same as a 35x12.5 G003 whyyy would you consider it as a good option

Correction the G003 35 is a pound lighter the XD is the same weight in a 35.

Yeahhh. I mean I know it’s a great tire and all but that’s just not worth it to me.

I recently installed some BFG Trail Terrains. Love how they drive on the road. Very quiet and smooth in my opinion. Plus I think they look great. Just rugged enough without sacrificing what counts. Got them at Costco.IMG_2239.jpg

I will never say No rubbing as every truck is different but 265 75 16 had no rubbing for me and most people here. There is a thread here on it. I was on stock offroad rims first then on trd pro Wheels later with Eibach 2" lift.
    Bought from
Goodyear Kaneohe. No need to go Costco/Sam's.

OP, take a look at the Nitto Tera Grappler. I had them on my FJ for years. Nothing sexy, just a real good all around AT tire.

I want to make a clarification. Have not had the BFG Trail Terrains on trails yet. Confused them with the last light trail I did was with my OEM tires. Looking forward to seeing how they do on some light trails and snow. I know snow is not a concern for OP.

Another thread I get to show off my newer. Yokohama Geolandar X-AT's.
Smooth and quiet. They like to pick up marble size rocks and I just about Tokyo drifted around the corner in the rain yesterday.
I bought them because allegedly they're better than KO2's in snow.
    Time will tell.

I just remembered I had these on my second gen. I liked them. They lasted a really long time.

From a lots of Toyota Tacoma tire options I choose the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs for my stock 2022 Sport and I'm really happy with them. They're C-load tires, so they're not too heavy or stiff, but they're still tough enough to handle some light off-roading. I've driven them in all sorts of conditions, including rain, snow, and mud, and they've performed great.

IMO definitely one of the coolest looking tires! Wish I had baja boss in 255/85/17 on my truck!
