I have 2019 Tacoma 2.7 2wd leveled on 33s with 20 inch rims. I have recently gotten noisy tires and can hear the tread. After looking at them it’s clear the outsides are wearing noticeably faster than the inside. It’s happening on the front and rear wheels. I have ridge grapplers my first set was amazing and lasted 80,000 miles this set is 30,000 in and I’ve done alignments and rotations. Is it possible it just needs another alignment? Also can you achieve a 4 wheel alignment on a 2wd truck?

If both the outside and inside are wearing faster then the center, then your tires are underinflated and need air.

If it's just the outside or just the inside, then it's probably the alignment.

What PSI are you running? As stated above, the wear could be indication of under inflation. When you say outsides, do you mean the outer and inner edge? And by inside do you mean middle? Or do you literally mean the outside edge is wearing faster than the inner edge?

Another thought could be looking into new upper control arms if you are still using the factory ones.

Sounds like your camber is incorrectly set. Back to the alignment shop.

    What does “outsides” mean?
Both edges of the tire at the sidewall?
Or just one edge, on the “outside” edge of the tire?

All are critical for tire life.

The rear alignment is fixed on both 2 and 4wd so more than likely you’re seeing wear on the rear tires because they used to be front tires. (Rotations)
Toe is the typical culprit in tire wear. Camber can affect it but at a much slower rate than toe, unless it’s grossly out of spec which you would be able to visually see.

I’ve had it aligned tires rotated and balanced I don’t have any sort of unusual wear but I still hear so much tire tread noise when I never did before. I can be driving straight and turning left and it makes the noise but when I turn right it’s quite and back to normal all of this is at minimum 35mph

I was told maybe it’s a rear axle bearing

Size tires and width wheels are you running?
Are you SURE it’s tire noise and not a wheel bearing or axle bearing?
    Certain could be a bearing
