Being that the 15x7 wheels are ~27mm narrower than a 205 tire, I am here to ask a question for those of you who have a couple hundred miles of experience with tires that are wider than your wheels. Well, according to tirerack.com they will fit together, but before I spend $1,000.00 on a new tire/wheel combo, I want to be sure of my purchase.

    Vehicle Specs:
    • 1998 Tacoma Xtra Cab, SR5
    • Completely stock (suspension, engine, drivetrain, etc.)
    My main concerns are:
Is it safe to wrap 205-50s onto 7-inch (177.8mm) wide wheels for moderately-aggressive street driving?
Are there any precautions to take when fitting tires on narrower wheels?

Also, does anyone have pictures of 205-50s wrapped around 15s on their 1st Gen stock height Tacoma with pictures to share?

    Last but not least: links.

Just check the recommended rim width for given tire. All tires listed by you have recommended rim with range 5.5-7.5".

That is impressive! I had not thought to look at the tire specs. Thank you for your reply, RysiuM.
