While planning my build i came to a stand still at tires and wheels. i'll be running OME dakar's in the rear and OME 885's in the front with the 13mm spacer and LR UCA's OME shocks front/rear. So i should have 3-3.5 inches of lift for my DCSB TRD sport automatic V6. Im not afraid to trim what needs to be trimmed or cut to clear tires. It's my DD and will 'maybe' see dirt three times a year.. lots of snow in the winter though. I called a million wheel companies today to find the lightest set up possible. I'd really like to NOT have to regear

What i think would look the best.
    - Mickey Thompson classic locks 16x8 4in BS.. Black with red ring - 27lbs
    - Goodyear Dura trac's 305/70r16 63.5lbs
    - 90.5lbs total

    The middle Ground
    - Raceline Renegade 6 16x8 4.5in BS black - 21lbs
    - 285/75/16 goodyear dura tracs 55lbs
    - 76lbs total

The best for fuel/power/mpg (maybe traction too even though i like dura tracs tread pattern way more)
    - Raceline Renegade 6 16x8 4.5in BS black - 21lbs
    - 255/85/16 Cooper ST's 49lbs (33.4 x 10.2 = lower rolling resistance)
    - 70lbs total

any suggestions? how much of an impact does Rotational weight have on power/mpg/stopping/handling?

thanks to everyone i stole pictures from :)

EDIT. new plan is to use SCS F-5 Wheels... come in at 19lbs a piece. So the SCS F-5 with cooper ST 255/85r16 will be 68lbs. . Dont think i'll be able to beat that.

Um someone can correct me if I'm wrong but 885s probably won't give you 3.5" of lift.

Also, with 3" and 33s you will have to do some trimming along with a possible cab mount chop.

Are you planning on running stock shocks..?

Btw I'm pretty sure that white truck is running a spindle lift.

I didn't read anything you asked except for the title

10# at the wheel = 100# in the truck so if you add 10# per tires X 4 tires = 400# of additional weight in the truck... or so the mathematicians say.

I don't have the time to dig into my books for equations to produce the exact numbers but this is pretty spot on.

I would go with a tall skinny tire to save on rotational mass, provide more traction, and provide lift.

885's (2.5in lift) and 13mm spacers (adds 3/4 to 7/8 lift) should put me over somewhere between 3-3.5in lift. I can cab mount chop, pound pinch weld, trim whatever plastic is in the way.

so between my heaviest combo and lightest is 20lbs a corner.. so that would be 800lbs

think i'll go with the light wheels and tall&skinny's.

does anyone know how much the stock tire and TRD sport wheel weighs?

Have you considered our SCS F-5 wheels? They're 16x8 with 4.5"BS and weighs in at just under 19lbs. Most of the extra weight comes from the tires so research your tire choices wisely. Then again, once you upsize to 33" tires, there's not much you can do with weight;).

i did not consider them... didnt know they existed! the lighter the better.. so it is for sure in the running now. Thank you.

so with the SCS F-5 wheel (19lbs) and Cooper ST 255/85/16 tire (49lbs) i'll be at 68lbs per tire/wheel. That sounds very good for a 33.4in tire/wheel combo. Hopefully that will keep me from needing to regear and keep the braking at a reasonable performance.

on my old jeep i went from alum. wheels with BFG AT KO's to a steel wheel with Trxus MT's and it felt like i had to BEG my jeep to go anywhere. The added rotational weight really killed it's power and mpg. That's what im trying to avoid.
