Got new rims. Just removed center cap and lugs and tire/rim won't budge? Any ideas how to get it off?

Take a mini sledge and hit the tire from the inside. Probably rusted on a little.

Ok not hitting calipers. I will try sledge. Tires were rotated by garage about 1000 miles ago and lugs were on there REAL tight

This. It sometimes just need a little help. Just make sure you hit the tire and not the wheel/rim.

    Hi,

I understand that you are taking off the old wheels and tires to have the tires mounted on the new ones, correct? If so the wheels have corroded to the drum and disk. Replace a lug nut or two loosely and then whack on the tire sidewall with a BFH or mall to break it loose. They can be fairly tenacious.

When you put the new wheels on the vehicle smear some anti seize on the matting surface of the drum and disk.

give it a swift kick from the inside if you can. sitting down on your ass, and heel to the tire.

if that doesnt work get some liquid wrench or some type of lubricant and spray it in all the holes and on the back side of the wheel where it seats at.

if that doesnt work, kick harder. lol

Edit: when i say swift, i mean kick that fucker hard!!
think about what your front end goes through, giving her a nice hard kick wont do anything wrong

Could even put a few of the lug nuts back on loose then lower the jack just a hair... use the weight of the truck to break it.

This is the best way I've found. Loose the lugs so they're a little less than finger tight while the truck is still on the ground. Then push or rock the truck a bit before jacking it up.

Huge amount of low speed force while the truck is safely on the ground as opposed to hitting it with a sledge hammer or kicking it while your truck is balancing on a jack.

dont be afraid to beat the hell out of it.

and you dont need to kick it from the inside. you can do the same work from the outside where its 1.) safer and 2.) you have more room to work and swing and kick. its pretty common to get them wedged on there after a while. just give it some love.

    and the brute force method.

Ill be damned if this didnt happen to me the other day while i was waiting in the parking lot to meet some clients i helped some lady change her tire and her tire wouldnt come off....i looked like an idiot standing there kicking the dog crap out of it. Needless to say it didnt work so i took a pair of wiremans pliers with a chisel end and stuck it between the drum and the rim and gave it a swift push and it came right off.

Ahhh yes, a stuck rim. Beat the hell out of it and then do it the other way with the jack and then get really pissed because it's 6:30am, cold and rainy, you're late for work, grab your cell phone and call out, start calculating how much air you have to put in to get to the local tire guy. Then hand it off to him and when you pick it up, listen to the old guy tell you his guys worked on it for an hour or two trying to get it off. What I am saying is, good luck.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Maybe loosen the lug nuts a few threads then start the truck and move it a few inches while turning the steering wheel. Don't loosen them too much!
