Yes, most trucks are like that and it doesn't cause a braking problem for the other trucks

^The rotor hat has less friction surface on a smaller working diameter than a drum, so if your complaint is the Tacoma parking brake being ineffective, going to rear discs will make it worse. From what I see with my 4Runner's parking brake, it doesn't work any better.

Why would any man want to get rid of his pimp cane parking break?:hattip::cool:

J/K...it's your truck, make it what you want. Though it does sound like a lot of work for no more capability.

Something I’ve contemplated in my mind. While at a red light on an incline , the guy behind me stops super close. I can manage to pull away with a very slight roll backwards. This is when I miss having the parking brake next to the shifter. If I had longer arms it wouldn’t be a problem. But reaching way forward for the wonky handle that doesn’t always wanna release makes it not how I wanna do it. Some things I’ve considered.

A brake line lock drag racers use. I’ve never used one so I’m not sure how happy I’d be with it.

Some sort of way to hold the throttle attached to the shifter. Maybe an atv thumb throttle with the cable attached to the gas pedal.

I’ll probably never do either. But I think about it when I’m at a red light on a hill looking in my mirror seeing someone coming behind me looking at their phone and continuing to creep forward. I can see they’re less than a 1/4 inch from hitting me. Sometimes I’ll bounce on and off the clutch, roll fwd a couple inches roll back a couple inches. Usually it gets their attention, not always.

Yea I hate people that do that.
What's stupid is Hill Start Assist is available on automatic trucks but not manual trucks IMO it should be opposite. You can easily 2 foot an auto, kinda difficult to 3 foot a manual:rofl:

It's definitely a Toyota design flaw.
I've never had any other vehicles that are such a problem with rear brakes being shitty.

I've never even heard of another vehicle having rear brakes that can seize and leave you stranded.

At least Toyota makes up for it with reliable engines. And lots of denso parts.
