    You're reading wrong.

Let's say 100 trucks all have a different problem, and each has its own thread.

You're reading them and thinking your truck now is going to have 100 problems, but no truck has more than 1.

Relax, drink a beer, enjoy your truck and don't worry about problems other people have. If yours is broke, fix it. No sense getting worried about things that "might" happen.

You will have a hard time finding a vehicle with less issues. People are more likely to post a thread saying I have a problem than, hey I had a trouble free day!

Ive found they are tougher trucks in their size class. Only thing I managed to ever actually break on a toyota was a winshield and a driveline which was already going out unknown to me when I bought it used.

No, I didn't use lemon oil either.

I just used M1 0-20 like the book said to. :p

I was kinda ticked that the 'convenience package' my base came with didn't include intermittent wipers though. But that wasn't a 'fix broke', so I didn't include it in my list off issues.

Your profile shows an '06. What 11 yo vehicle doesn't have some maintence that needs to be done?

I'm not a Toyota fan boi by any stretch. Still ticked my '04 burnt out a taillight a couple of years ago, THEN the valve covers leaked and the rear shocks needed replacement. And only with 100k! What's up with that?

Pssst semantics just semantics. I had a Chevy Blazer that my wife nicked named the Cancer because every other week sometime broke and it never saw dirt.

I'm just under the 36K mark and these are my issues so far,

    • Squeaky clutch pedal. After 2x spraying lube and having the problem go away temporarily, pedal was replaced.
    • Clamshell needle bearing roar after lifting the truck, TSB done - so far TSB bearing is holding up.
    • Random radio reboots. Firmware was updated - so far no reboots but now the sat. radio reception has more dead spots
    • The glue that holds the hood braces to the sheetmetal has popped in several spots. Waiting on the regional rep. to issue a fix.
All minor stuff. Considering the hard life the truck has had so far, if something major were to break, it probably would have already happened.
My biggest issue is that this truck is a money pit - from all the self-inflicted mods :anonymous:

    Charcoal canister
    Speedometer cluster
    Leaf springs

That's about all I can think of that actually BROKE/failed.

I had a Dodge once that would require its own sub forum to list the issues it had.

I've had some issues in 13 years.. some in the $300-700 range, a couple in the 2k range. The thing is, the total money I've spent on the truck wouldn't buy a new one at today's prices (40k+), even with the 15k I was offered for mine just yesterday. At 266k miles, it has served me well. and will continue to. I show it my appreciation by properly maintaining it. I choose not to play the latest-greatest games that advertisers would have you believe is the only way. Haha.. I'm laughing all the way to the bank.

I love my Taco, but it's not made with the best quality. It likely will be the only one I own. I don't think they are worth the money.

I also love my Tacoma and plan in keeping it for at least 4 more years. No problems so far in 6 years and nearly 90K miles. However, I'm leaning towards a 4Runner for my next vehicle as they have better/higher build quality.
