    Hi gang!

I own a Tacoma TRD Sport DCLB since 13 months...

I like the truck but I hate it at the same time.

It shake on the road... small shaking in the entire truck, seats, gaz pedal... I saw the rain turning on the hood... It's began around 45-50kph and always present in 2wd or 4wd. It's seem more prononced when I climb small hill or when I press more on gas pedal. On neutral or if I leave the foot of the pedal, it change nothing the vibration still here...
The vibration is more aggressive after a long parking period, after a run of few minutes the intensity of the shaking drop.

Try three set of tires (Toyo A30, Nokian Hakapellitta 8, BFG KO2, 2 sets of rims (orignal and steel for winter), alignement, always the same trouble.... Tires are balanced 8-9 times
Done the TSB who change steering damper and rear leafs...

After more than 10 visits to Toyota dealer to try different things and more than one month without my truck, i'm tired to waste time on it... they coulnd find the solution.... all seem to be solid on the truck...

I call Toyota Canada, they told me : I will lost money if I return back my location sooner, I find it really stupid and say to the person : Why it's to me to lose money on a thing than your not able to repair it properly?

I would like to keep the truck but not with that problem....

Any suggestions to help me ?

Any chance you can get the dealer to change your hubs? If it's not wheel/tire the next most lightly thing are hubs. Checking the rear isn't all that hard with the right tools (which I'm sure your dealer doesn't have), but checking the front can be a pain. But just keep bitching to Toyota, they should fix this.

If it shakes at idle or in neutral that means the tranni, transfer case, propeller shafts, diff and wheels are NOT turning/spinning and all those should be discounted from the equation.
The ONLY components remaining that are working/turning is the engine and torque converter. There are cases when the TC is bad and can induce vibrations. Most likely is the engine (a piston?), engine mounts or maybe the cabin mounts. As the engine works harder (or cold) the vibrations are more pronounced. That should be checked and fixed by the dealer under the warranty UNLESS you done changes to the truck. Ask the manager to sit in your truck and feel the vibrations and then move into another truck on the lot to compare. ASK for an explanation in writing why is your truck doing this and not the other one. Fight Toyota corp for a buy back or exchange. If not sell it or trade it in for 17 or 18 model. Better to lose some money that hate life and truck.

Does it shake at idle or when you rev it up a little in neutral?

Is this while the truck is rolling? Or at a dead stop?

This law suit / lemon / sell it / trade it attitude is not helpful. I don't see why there's so many posts like that here. Y'all are unreasonable and unhelpful, and should just shut up if you have nothing to contribute. :crapstorm:

I had similar symptoms in a Honda a few years back. It turned out to be a bad CV axle. Do your CVs have lot of wiggle?

It could also be a REALLY bad ECGS bushing. If it goes away somewhat when you have 4wd on in a straight line, there's a good chance that's the issue.

I'd also see if you can wiggle your driveshaft. A bushing bad on the driveshaft or a yoke going could easily cause vibrations.

Mine shakes over 60mph. Had the tires rebalanced 3 times and have rotated and gotten the TRD wheels too.

It’s my first truck, so I just thought it was normal.

This is the way to go, have you spoken to the service manager? Is there another dealer you can try if you're not getting resolution?

Then it's probably not the tires

Take it somewhere else and have it diagnosed properly. Even if you have to pay and independent shop to do it - it will be less than you lose selling it back to Toyota. Once you know what the problem is - you can either ask Toyota to fix it under warranty or make sure it's broken properly so they HAVE to fix it.

    Good luck!

My 2010 TRD 4WD did exactly as you're describing.
It started shaking so bad I didn't want to drive it!
I took it to my local Toyota dealership and had new universal joints installed.
They warrantied all parts and labor under TSB ZH2
It may not be your antidote, but it's a free and extended service for most 2005-2011 tacoma's
