Hey guys so I have an 03 xtra cab 4x4 with 285/75/16R General grabbers. When I put them on initially back in December, they fit perfectly fine on stock rims and a small bds suspension lift (about 2.5 inches or so with add a leaf in the rear) and they only rub I got was at full lock on the upper control arm so it was never a big deal. However, a couple months ago I picked up a set of 4 pacer rims from my buddy for a hundred bucks cuz they seemed like they would fit. Though the lug pattern matched and the diameter of the rim was the same, the width made the stance significantly wider. The problem is though, the new width is causing the tires to catch on the front bumper and it is now slowly tearing it off. I would normally go for a high clearance off road bumper (I was already looking at the allpro Offroad baja bumper) but it's a bit out of my price range right now due to the fact I'm in the middle of dropping in a 350 sbc. I guess my question is, what can I do to prevent the rubbing now as well as prepare for the extra weight of the bigger engine down the road so that my truck is off-road ready again? I don't want to do another lift kit (again due to monetary concerns) but if there are any heavy duty shocks you could recommend that would add possibly an inch or so without needing extra linkage or whatnot I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance guys!

Ok. I've been slowly grinding off more and more (I already hammered in the pinch weld at the rear of the tire) but the problem is the tires catching fairly significantly on the bracket that is holding the outermost portion of the bumper on. How far in can I cut without damaging the integrity of the entire bumper? Also, if all else fails, would it be fairly easy to wire the turn signals into the two outer parking lights and just drop the front bumper entirely? This is my first build so I'm figuring all this out as I go so sorry but the newbie questions lol

Shouldn't be too hard to wire it in using those wire taps to tap in the turn signals into your running lights the search bar is your friend my man haha look up 1st gen wiring turn signals into running lights I know there's multiple write ups on it

No problem man it should be an easy swap I don't have a 1st gen so I wouldn't know but wire taps are a very simple way to fix things like this
