5/4 setting? well that is your prob (along with maybe backspacing)
Crank that to a 2” 6/5 man. What is the offset of the wheel?

damn adding a bumper and more weight up front may cause some sag. Especially if you only have the 600# coils.

you might start looking at a 275/70-17... or replace the coils. Kings have a 700# coils for like 200 a set I believe. If you have to reset the Perch on the shock you might should just do it all at once.

I ran the D-load in a 285/70/17. No issues at all with wandering. I am pretty OCD and had them rotated every 5k miles and the fronts would always get road force balanced. I got almost 60k miles out of a set doing that.

My Duratracs wandered before the first rotation. Not sure if discount tire road force balances by default or you have to request but I'll look into it. Thanks

Oh! I do have replacement 650 eibach coils to put on and with the added weight I was going to bump it to 6. You think I'd really need spacers?

hard to say... I would hate to put spacers after replacing your entire suspension... kinda ruins the point of going full suspension.

I assume you mean strut spacers.
I would never advocate for wheel spacers... I have seen some shady wheels spacers and Discount Tire won’t even touch a wheel with spacer

That's kind of how I feel. I unabashedly admit building this truck around the damn tires and I'm just sort of tired of it. Especially because I am taking a mileage hit with them as well. I mean they are fine but I think I can do better and without the rub. I did mean strut spacers. The info I could find from the fuel website states

This is a picture. Fuel lists the maverick d538's as having an offset(in the tacoma bolt battern) either:
    in size 8.5: 20, 25, 32
    In size 9: -12, 13, 14, 20
    in size 10: -24, -12

I'm only guessing that they are 9 inches.. Fuel is really great about not putting any identifying info except their logo anywhere on the wheel accessible to me right now. I measured across the inside of the wheel from one lip to another and it came out as 12" so that can't be right.. Anyway my best reasonable guess is 9" with -12 offset based on how they stick out. The website also lists BSM (backspacing), or are backspacing and offset interchangeable? Anyway the BSM for 9" -12 offset is 4.5 inches

For a 17” tacoma wheel it is likely a 9 /-12. That doesn’t tell you back spacing though. That is width and offset. Offset is a bit misleading. Really just tells you how far off center the wheel will sit on the job.

    Ever consider new wheels? Lol
I have some Black Rhino Granges up for sale soon.

either way you swing it setting that perch higher and a 650# coil spring change would get you in the 285/70-17 realm atleast a 275/70.

a 275 limits your options but doesn’t look bad bc it will fill the wheel well up.

I have run KOs in the past not KO2 but effectively the same things. They are the standard in the market but I was looking to spice it up.

they were in the running, but had to cut down my options

Take it to a different alignment shop and it's not just the uppers they need to adjust. You can even do the part that will help the most yourself and that's adjust the lower control arm to push the wheel away from the fender. Here's a clip from SPC themselves showing this: https://youtu.be/f2YhnldfI50?t=110. I clear my 285/70R17 KM3s without a CMC and get zero rubbing through the entire suspension cycle because I was able to adjust it out with the lowers and SPC uppers. I have about 1.75"-2" of lift from my Kings so I'm not lifted huge either.

When you take it to a different shop, ask them if they have experience adjusting SPC control arms. If they don't, then go to the next shop until you find one that does.

Thanks! I think you have singlehandedly rejuvenated my faith I can make this tire size work. I was running out of reasons to justify the money I was throwing at the problem (and I did so thoughtfully, doing all the suspension work myself). THANK YOU! I will call shops until I can find one that can do this.

For the money there are better tires with much better treadlife. The duratracs are only rated at a 550 treadlife, whereas something like the Falkens or Hankook are rated 600-660

To name a few: Falken Wildpeaks (unoriginal), Hankook Dynapro RF11, Yokohama MT (good quality), Cooper AT3...

I had Falkens when they first came out on my ‘08 Taco, I wasn’t a fan. Tread wear is not really a concern as I will likely get new tires after 25-30k. I had Yoko Mts in order but they didn’t fit on my ‘19. I really liked the look! Very y’all tire though. I am not sure the 285/70-17 would fit on a 6112 front 2” lift. But they might!

    I throw my 2 cents.

I personally didn't mind the stock tires. I took them through some moderate offroad areas and they did great. Kept up with guys running much better. Finally changed when I hit cascade concrete (aka snow this time of year) and decided 30k was enough. Got a hell of a deal on duratrac 265/75/16 "C" from discount tire, price matched, with the certs for near 30% less than I was able to find anywhere else.

I was seriously looking at the yokohoma geolanders. Used them in an LC79 with great results. I wanted a C load but was willing to make E load for some tires.

Try looking into the Mastercraft line. They have great tires and offer more load ranges than your standard Cooper (I love cooper tires and mastercraft is an offshoot using the same carcass) but come in more load ranges and sizes if you are not able to find any.

Personally I love my duratracs. Just a touch larger tires (not able to do the full CMC for a little while) mostly from people driving in the same region as me. I've noticed regionally peoples preference for tires change. Around here no one likes the BFG KO2 because of wet traction on roads. While others speak nothing but praise about them in another part of the country.

Some here desert run with E load. I would be E load if I was exposed to that much rock or shale too. Look at what people are saying regionally about your tires. You might get a better frame of reference. Also some tires and shops have a 30 day trial so I'd take advantage of that and have a backup un case you don't like it.

Which Falkens were you running at the time? The AT3/W is new-ish and seems to be the best tire for your usecase. SL weight is low for daily driving but it still has double layer sidewalls and the silica compound on the P-metrics does really well in wet/snowy conditions compared to most ATs.

Weight wise they're pretty much equivalent to a KO2 C load range

    Edit, from another thread:
    LT or P rated wildpeaks?

Must have been around 2010 I think.
Falken AT. I worked at Discount Tire for 7 years so I saw a lot of stuff change and some is still nearly the same. I don’t want a P metric tire. They are too soft and the tread depth on the tire and aggressiveness on the shoulder don’t give me the look I want.

Falken is a midrange tire but a great value and good mileage.

so regionally... I have no clue what I will need. I am in the Army and I have no idea where I will be next. I believe in the Midwest for the next two years but we will see. I am 2 months out and still don’t know where I will be living... always an adventure!
