X2 for Cooper. Great tires! Either STT MAXX, or the STT PRO. I run Load range E. I'm getting ready to buy my third set. I get about 45-50K out of each set. They run dead true, and require minimal balancing. They perform great on and off road.

You're better off giving money towards the tire purchase as the gift.

Hey, that is an awesome gift. Just find out what size tires and what kind of driving he'll be doing ( how much off road vs street) and ask one of the guys at your local discount tire. The local guys will be able to point you in the right direction based on the type of terrain in your area.

OP, assuming you are a female. Would you be happy if your bf bought you a pocketbook or pair of shoes? Money or gift card is the way to go.

Going to have to agree with like a tire rack gift card. Girls love to give "thoughtful" gifts, but unless you know exactly what tire he wants, its hard to buy the "right" ones.
