I found these Falken Wildpeak AT3’s from FB Marketplace as I remember someone in the forum suggested to Check FB and found the tires shown in the pictures. Based on the seller, the condition is “Used - like new”. Are these tires good and are used tires worth the purchase?

Ask them for the tread depth then compare the depth on a brand new set. Then haggle from there. Lots of people like those tires.

used tire places creep me out. I would just buy from a reputable retailer.
More than likely, they are nearly new and were purchased for pennies on the dollar for resale. Risk and rewards. What are you saving, versus what are you risking? Only you can decide.

If those tires had your typical A/T tire tread depth when new (I'm thinking it's usually around 17/32"), then those are already at least 50% gone. Clearly this is a used tire peddler based on the sticker and all the stacks of tires in the background... A 50%-worn tire is not "like new" (the tire at the bottom of that stack looks 70-80% worn).

Definitely not worth $400 (more like $100-150).

Check the manufacture date on them. It's a code on the sidewall near the DOT certification.
They may have plenty of tread left and look good but be 6 years old.

    It’s a crapshoot.

A few years ago I brought a set of dirt tracks on FB. Price was about a third of new, can’t remember the tread depth, but they were about 3/4 of now.

Anyway, had them installed, had major issues. One of the tires had broken belt.

unless i knew the source, i would only buy used tires for a beater car or truck, never for a primary vehicle.

if you decide to go look at them, make sure to look at the inside for any patches or plugs, and check the bead and sidewall for damage.

The Wildpeaks are a great tire, if that’s what you’re asking in your first question.

I agree with everyone else’s responses about buying from a used tire place.

Unless it’s going on a dedicated trail rig, tires are something that should not be bought used.

Great idea if you have a lease that needs a certain tread depth for turn in. I would just buy new if it was for me to drive everyday.

Thank you for all your responses. I will stay away from it. Tire seems good but high safety risk.
