It's not an issue because I'm not going to be using 1/4" spacers. If I can't get my lug nuts on then being hub centric means nothing.

I understand what hub centric is and I know why and when it's needed.

OP I don't know how you feel about "poke" but this would solve your problem. Larger wheel spacers bolt onto your hub then use a second set of studs to mount your wheels, this would eliminate your need for longer studs. The smallest you can go with this style is 1" like so:

    https://www.extremeterrain.com/borne-off-road-tacoma-1-inch-wheel-spacers-black-bnws-004-250bk.html

That's because it's only 0.25” thick. The 4wd hub center sticks out 0.36". I just swapped wheels and measured.
Edit: this number could vary between different brands of brake rotors or hubs

I don't like it, lol. I know what spacers are and I know the various types available. I've seen 0.75" spacers that wouldn't require studs so long as I've got some room on the backside of my wheels (which I think I do) but that would give me an effective offset of -9. Not too bad, but not idea. A 1" spacer would be an offset of -15 so that's even worse.

Also, I'm very close to rubbing where the mudflaps are. I've had to massage them a little for clearance. If I push the wheels out then I may reduced the rubbing at the frame but it looks like it'll cause rubbing to pop up in other places.

Gotcha I didn’t realize that the hub stuck out further!

Have you looked at ET (extended thread) lug nuts? I would be bothered by grabbing just a few threads too.

Never heard of such a thing, care to provide some more info? I have the TRD faux beadlock wheels so they use a different style lug nut compared to the normal factory wheels so options on lug nuts are limited - plus I don't see how it's possible for the lug nut to have an affect here anyway.

    going through the same thing
    35” tall skinny
17x8.5 Method 701, not sure if I should’ve picked the 17x9 and if that would’ve made a difference

What’s everyone doing to fix this?

based on description, SpiderTrax seems to have spacers for the purpose of this

to stop rubbing the frame by moving the wheel outward

    IMG_3458.jpg IMG_3459.jpg IMG_3470.jpg

I would think that the farther out the front wheel is, the more likely it is to rub the cab mount. But I don’t think that would be a concern given
    1. DRT CMR
    2. 1.25” is not a huge amount

SpiderTrax seems cheaper than Bora but with less sizes available

on top of that, if one ever plans to run Archive relocate in the back with longer travel shock, spacers will very likely be required as a supporting mod for that anyway

as to what thickness that I don’t know, for example cheaper only available as 1.25” SpiderTrax, or thicker available from Bora at higher cost

TLDR this whole rubbing the frame stuff does everyone fix it by getting 1.25” SpiderTrax?
