to be honest the dunes have done me quite well... and they have lasted quite a while... do dont hate MR DGAF!!

 

haha open contrys are the best tires i have ever had brother had them for a year now and ask danny they still look brand new! And i wheel them no chunking or thread missing! Flames on tires is just not my style! They should call them DUDE GRAPPLERS BUHAHAHA!

 

Thanks Rtrn2taco for the info. on upsizing to an LT 265/75 16 AT tire. The selection of available tires is much larger then the '70' series tires. The only other issue is the lack of LR C or D in this size. Most of them are LR E.

don't forget about green diamond tires check these out they have granules of silica carbide distributed evenly through out the tread for maximum traction in snow ice mad pretty much any where. i have personally heard very good things about them.

 

i lso just got a set of goodyear duratracs and they are AWESOME! good off road and supposedly rated as a commercial tire for extreme snow conditions not to mention dry and wet traction and wear are also outstanding. so i know alot of people are saying good things about these tires so i guess add one more because i really like mine. not to mention they look very aggressive and are actually very quiet. i will post a picture later.

i like how beefy it is... now i notice the tread pattern is different than the outside tread.... is there a significance to that..??

 

idk? all i know is that they are a commercial tire thats one of the very few all terrain tires thats being sold that meets govt. standards for severe snow and ice i noticed the other day when i was cleaning them that they can be studded. i really like them alot and after last winter i wanted a tire that would do good on trails and mud, but one that also excelled in the snow, wet and dry conditions. not to mention the look pretty slick and they are pretty quiet on the highwy.

 

wait u can add studs to them..???

 

little holes in the tire where you can insert studs for ice driving. like i said they are rated for severe snow and ice. i can't wait for the first snow lol

 

anybody know what wheels/rims those nitto dune grapplers are wrapped around?

 

KMC enduro pro's it looks like. They're a off-road only beadlock but they have the standard enduro thats street legal.

 

i have the open country G02 winter tire and they ROCK in the snow so far!!!!

RE: winter tires. I just put a set of General Grabbers AT2 tires on my '07 Taco. They are also rated for severe winter traction, snowflake symbol, and can be studded.. I stayed with the stock 265/70 16 SL tires, but the load carrying rating is higher than a 'P' series tire.

Okay so my girlfriend's mother has 2 BFG AT's in their barn that I can have for free. They are 315/70/17 and came off her hummer h2. I would only have to buy 2 more tires, but I am curious how much trimming I would have to do. I have the 17" sport wheels with 1.5" spacers and a 2.5 front spacer lift...Just trying to decide if would be worth the trimming???

 

Check toward the end of my build thread for info on fitting 35's on a 3" lift (those 315's are basically a 35" tire). Link to my build is in my sig.
