So, i wanna get a great road tire, especially snow, but all season, good for mud but mainly road, hills are there so need grip, but will do asphalt more often than not.

Whats a good choice, i am clueless about truck tires. Using stock 17's

Depends on how much you want to spend. The BFG All Terrain is a fantastic tire, and my next tire purchase if I can't secure my green diamond's.

BFG's. Great in snow. The Mrs has it on her Jeep and I was very impressed with their snow and ice handling capabilities.

Yea, I had BFGs on my 97 taco, and will eventually get them on my 09. Awesome tires in all situations.

I vote for the General Grabber AT2's. They have a very similar tread pattern to the BFG but they get a better rating in most categories on tirerack.com. Oh yeah and they can accept studs if you want.

I think they look better than the BFG's and here was another deciding factor when I bought mine.....they were not on every friggin truck you see!!

    Here's a couple of pics:

BFG is probably the most durable and dependable tire out there. I have used Goodyear, they suck because they are too damn hard to balance. Nittos are decent, but they dont have the tread wear or the traction of the BFG. Michelin is nothing more than a big car tire and they chunk like crazy.
I know Kuhmo sucks from using them on a couple cars I had in the past.

Consider getting the new Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs, they are an all-season tire but look like a mud tire. Heavy lugs on the inside/outside edges but smaller lugs in the center which reduce road noise. I've only had them for 500 miles and they do well in the rain. Won't know about winter traction for a few months yet. They were easy to balance and these tires are studable. Here's a couple pics.

I've always been a fan of the Toyo Open Country A/T's and M/T's. I would go with the A/T's if you're on the road a lot. Then again, you can't go wrong with BFG's A/T. I just put Yokohama's Geolander A/T-S on mine and I like them so far, only had them about 1500 miles but they've been good, didn't hurt my mileage or ride quality and they were the best bang for your buck I could find, got them at Discount.
