Ok first off let me say excuse me for being brand new to this. I’ve spent the majority of my adult life in prison and being fresh out I just bought my first truck a trd pro and absolutely love it. The previous owner made some modifications which I’m still trying to figure out. I’ve checked it out pretty thoroughly thanks to some fellow Tacoma Worlders and found out that I’ve got a 6” drop bracket lift on the front but I don’t see any mods to the rear. Any input on this would be most appreciative because I figured it’d be bull dogging pretty drastically with that much lift in the front and nothing on the back.

anyways it’s got these puny rubber bands tires as one of us called them and I’m looking to upgrade. Trying to figure out what I should do. It’s got aftermarket 20” fuel rims on it too so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

 

@tlangston239 welcome to the forum, congrats on your Taco purchase. If you have a true 6inch lift, you could stay with the 20'' wheels, 33 or 35 12.50R20. Most forum members would suggest going with new wheels and tires in a 33 or 35 12.50R17 for more sidewall if you are going to go off roading. Would love to see some pics. That may help in the recommendation process.

Measure from the center of your front and rear hubs up to your fender, stock for 3rd gens is approx 21 front and 22 rear. Then you’ll know what your lift is.

 

Awesome thanks bro so I just checked I got 5” in the front and 4” in the back. So how big can I go on tires?

 

Good question, to do it proper you need to get your truck on jacks and cycle your suspension, see how much room you have with your suspension compressed and turned to full lock.
Not proper way - buy 35s mount them, start trimming when you hear some noise. If you stick to just pavement
