Quick question! 29x8.50r15 super swamper tsl bias on 15x10 with 1”1/2 spacers stock height 2Gen 2015 tacoma! Would this be a nice look and will it rub? I’m running 265/70/R16 now
    Thanks

Setting looks aside for a moment, do you actually drive a lot in swamps?

Guessing probably not........ So how about terrain that requires that aggressive tread?

Isn't an 8.5 tire on a 10" wheel gonna be 'stretched'?

That would look terrible. The wheels are wider than the tires by 2" and the tires are super skinny and not even as tall as stock.

The TSL tread pattern will be loud, rough and wear poorly. Bias ply tires don't handle very well.

And 15" wheels don't fit on second gens if I remember correctly.

Working conditions require my vehicle to drive daily in a muddy terrain. So I figured the tire choice would be reasonable. Plus, I like the style.
I know that it is stretching but do you think that it is too much of a stretch?

That size tire and wheels will be extremely impractical on and off road, too stretched

Just get a 265 size M/T tire or larger if you get suspension, it will perform better on all fronts

Stretch never adds any function. It's simply a poseur ploy.

If you actually want grip (traction), make the tire/wheel combo fit properly. Every tire brand has a spec sheet that shows a min/best/maximum wheel width for the tire.

15 inch wheels won't clear the brake calipers without 2" wheel spacers and serious backspaced wheels.

    ^And this^

You can't air down a stretched tire. It will blow the bead immediately. The height of the sidewall is more important than the width of the tire in any off road situation.

Going for the froggy look? The masses on here are not a fan so you may not get the response you’re looking for. Even for 808 guys on this site, most are probably not a fan.

In any event - your $, your choice. Do what makes you happy but be wary of consequences down the line.

If you're going for a certain look, that's one thing...but if you want function go a different direction.

You may not be happy on the highway. Bias ply tires will ride rough and tsl will be noisy. Sidewalks will not flex very much which will require running a lower pressure to get the flex. So if you are all off road then maybe if you can get them to fit, but if you are looking for daily driving perhaps another more standard mud terrain. And not sure where you live, but tsl tires will be like skates on slick roads - even wet. Hope that helps

If you're just going for looks then do whatever the hell you want just know that you could be creating headaches and expensive repairs in the future. If you just want something to get through the mud but not actually mud riding I recommend Truck claws. They're just a chunk of metal that straps to your tire and it really does help to get your vehicle out the mud. I have a tacoma sport so I was considering buy a crappy 4x4 truck for hunting season but instead $175 for truck claws and I haven't gotten in anything I haven't been able to get out of.
