I went to order new tires. Thinking the truck came with 265/65r16. Well after they showed up the truck came with 265/65r17. So I have to send these back and get the right size.
I ordered 285/75r16 to get 33''s. Now with the 17 inches being on truck now. Can I do 285/76r17?

I'm just curious what wheels came on your truck from the dealer?

at any rate, you're not getting 285s on stock suspension without trimming something

The nittro grapplers. Thought they were 16's. But looking on the door there is 2 stickers on there. Ones for the 16 inch tire and another for the 17 inch tires. It's a trd off road. 6speed manual.

TRD Offroads come stock with 16 inch wheels if you have the stock ones

Wheels, not tires. The TRD OR should come with 16" wheels from the factory, so obviously the dealer put 17's on yours and I'm just curious what wheels you've got

Your offroad shouldve come with 16" wheels. Checking size is easy though. Look for the number on the tire directly after the "r" should be a 16 or 17. Something like 265/65r17 or 265/70r16. Ordering tires without being able to tell wheel size seems reckless imo :boink:

Yes. Guess that's why there was 2 stickers on the drivers inside door panel. But I need to know will 285 75 17 work in the wheel well? Or do I have to go down to 16's to make it work to get 33?
I've got coming kings oem 700lb front shocks with res. And adjuster's. JBA UCA HD.

I thought the truck came with 16 inch tires. I know it stock with 16 inch. Had no idea they were 17. It's cool. But when the shop told it was 17 I was blown away. Even in the computer to do the alignment says it should be 16. But it is what it is now. It isn't costing anything to send back.

Just saying id verify. Takes about 4 sec to look at the sidewall of your tire. Tons of numbers on there but all you need be concerned with is r16 or r17. Should be the biggest font other than the tire brand. Would suck to ship em back and findout they were right and shop was being dumb

Well good call blackout, def not stock wheels and tires in op avatar but they appear 5 spoke which isnt 4runner trd wheel. Guess we are stuck with the tough task of reading current size or just hoping next ones might work.

You're gonna have to do some serious trimming to get a 285/75/16 to fit, I think the closest version of that to a 17 tire is within .1 inches and it's a 285/70/17 if you really do have 17's but that would mean they gave you the sport tires. The sport tires have more backspacing which means that a 285/70/17 is gonna be rubbing on your uca's if you put it on their without going to aftermarket uca's or getting new wheels with 4.5" backspacing at 0 offset. The sport rims will not fit a 285, if you want a true 33 though and don't want new uca's or new rims then a 255/80/17 is gonna be your best bet. It's up to you but you won't be able to fit 285's stock on sport rims without rubbing uca's

I guess I should have asked if he planned to off-road, if he's off-roading trimming is more serious. I'm running total Chaos uca's and 4.5" backspacing on an icon stage 2 at preset lift and I still had to trim mine hard

That's a cab mount chop, pinch weld is hammered in, and the picture doesn't show it but that's almost a quarter of my inner fenderwell

    Cooper s/t maxx

Edit: to be able to flex off-road without rubbing takes some more work...

Those don't look like stock uca's and it looks like he's on an OME lift. That also doesn't look like a 12.5 tire lol

What type of uca's? He may not even need spacers
