Add one for the Wildpeak. I have loved them this winter in Wisconsin. great traction in the snow and on wet roads.

Michelin Defender or AT2. Defenders made my hydroplaning, sliding, short bed ford ranger safe after driving it for 14 years hating the rain on other tire brands which all slid.
Also the only tire that I could wear completely out w/o getting cut up on my flint dirt road. My FIL just cut thru the tread on a brand new Cooper AT tire after <5miles on my road. Defenders go till they are worn out.

When the factory goodyears wear out I will be going with the AT wildpeaks. I have been running the MT version on my work truck. It gets abused out on fires in the summer. Lots of offroad use in mud, snow, powder, rocks, and freshly burned ground. They have held up very well...

I love my new Falken Wildpeaks. I had BFG's on my old truck. They are good tires. The Wildpeaks feel like they are locked to the ground under all conditions. So far really happy with them.IMG_4451.jpg

I’m running the XL 285’s. The construction is similar to a load C tire.

K02 is a severely outdated tire...there are SEVERAL better options on the market now. The only thing the Kbro2 has going for it is a huge fan base and they look cool...

Cooper AT3 or Falken Wildpeak are much better AT tires, and cheaper than the BFG's.

Ok so 95% of your driving is highway and wet. Reasons I will not use an AT tire again. FLAME SUIT ON. They are heavy and kill gas mileage. They are in many cases not that good as snow tires or all season tires in the snow, rain or on ice. When they wear down they get LOUDER and LOUDER. The ride is worse. They do not corner or brake as well. However going off road a lot. Definitely get at least an AT with E rating for those nasty sharp rocks etc that you regularly encounter. BTW 4wD is at times not good enough no matter what tire but its hard to beat a good 5 wheel drive setup (winch,jack,sling,....) GTS Bruce

General Grabber at2, maybe not as strong as the KO2's but also lighter and less expensive.

I get the exact same mileage with my falkens as I did the stock gy's on my OR. I got SL tires just for that reason. In the wet and snow they are far superior to the stock tires as well. Off road it's no comparison to stock. Sharp rocks aren't much of a concern, I'm much more cautious of sticks and limbs

Limited wheels, extra rope hooks in bed.
I've had 4 sets of Michelin LTX M/S tires and I drive 95% on pavement...I don't have much to compare them to the last 20 years because that's all I buy....They ride smooth, they're quite, they handle good on dry pavement, not slick in the rain either and last forever, almost.

They're very good tires, perfect for the OP'S needs. They just don't look sexy for his needs.

Yup pretty much haha. That’s a very fair comment. I’m going to look into them though. I don’t want to do an E-Load so I eliminated BFG ko2.
