    I have had Michelin LTX AT2s for the last year and a half or more. They are great in the rain and are smooth on pavement. They are great on sand, but since I live in FL--I don't have experience in snow or mountainous terrain.

    The DEfenders may be a better choice, but the AT2s will be fine for your needs.
