So- I went to Tire Rack for online quote for a price on the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus.
Tires are $782.00 plus tax free delivery. That's around $835.00
Only approved installer is Pep Boys. Really?
So, got a quote for the installation, balancing, TPMS cal (No new TPMS), disposal
$98.00 for 4 tires. Add $180 plus tax for the TPMS.
    Sams is cheaper.

Sounds like I'm shopping cheap, I'm not. I just want a tire that checks all the boxes for a fair price.

Have you looked into Goodyear UltraTerrains? They get mostly great reviews and have excellent snow traction and are fairly quiet on the highway. They are exclusive to America's tire (or Discount Tire, depending on your location), so there's that. Mine have 16K miles and are due for a rebalance -- they were smooth as glass when new.

Do you have a Discount Tire where you are?

They tend to have prices very similar to TireRack once you factor in shipping and either way you are on the hook for install/disposal/etc..

I have had nothing but good experiences with them.
I used TireRack to research the tires I wanted/read the reviews and then went to DT online, ordered the tires to the location I wanted and made an appt to have them installed.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Pretty much all AT tires are going to suck on ice, black ice, frosty bridge decks. A real winter tire will be the best. How much weight do you run in your bed in the winter. Trucks suck with no weight in the back.

I run 6- 60 lb bags of sand over the rear axle. I need a 1 tire fits all. Like I said before, the tires I have now are the worst in snow.

Another vote for General Grabber ATX. These make my Taco feel confident in all conditions through all seasons here in Wisconsin. Very underrated tire that nobody seems to run. I'm a fan.

Sounds very much like my experiences. I'll add this: Many tire shops, including America's Tire (there's one in Palm Desert), will price match any legitimate offer. Just be sure to include everything (taxes, fees etc).

The Pirelli’s have good reviews, I almost went with those myself.
The Goodyear Ultraterrain’s that @XSplicer62 mentioned are good as well, we have them on my wife’s Wrangler. They’ve seen a good amount of snow up in the mountains and have done well, on road and off.
The same can be said of my Cooper AT3 LT’s.

I took a hard look at the General Grabbers @wi_taco runs too, General makes some good tires.

Also for what it’s worth, shopping around for a good deal doesn’t make you cheap.

Well, I'll be damned! There's a tire & wheel area to post in! All I saw was the pinned tire thread that was dated. If a mod wants to move this, that would be better than limiting tire choice to 2nd gen only!

There are a lot of expensive tires that are no better than less expensive ones...
I fell into a brand I like a lot just because I shopped for cheap tires. I've had four sets of Yokohama Geolandar LT G015 tires on four different trucks. They are quiet, wear very well, and are decent in snow. They're relatively light too. I've read some reviews that say they are not that good on wet roads but I've never seen any reason for the criticism. I bought a set from Amazon last year in January and they cost $147 per tire. I'm sure they must be more now, but they're still gonna be cheap compared to a lot of tires.

Ok, I found these take-offs on FB Marketplace off a 2021 with 2k miles on them. 4 wheels & 4 Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure Kevlar 265/70R16 with no TPMS sensors for $850
You can see my wheels on left. Both are 6 lug 16's
Are they same offset? Fit ok? Waiting to hear back from him.

Amp Off-road tires are hard to beat. I run 325/60R20's, low road noise, balance great, great traction on and off road, I've got at least 25,000 miles on these and they have about 3/4 tread left. They are E rated and the tread is a little deeper than most A/T's so they are on the heavy side

Great tire, especially if you pick up a set in 265 75 R16 in C load. However, I would they are definitely not the quietest tire and they get pretty loud with age. Other than that, solid tire especially in snow.
