Do it now or do it later.

This is also the 3rd time I've changed my shocks. The 2.0s with resi were fine for awhile. They still are, but my wheeling had changed and if I'd gone 2.5s originally I probably wouldn't be changing them now.

My thoughts exactly.... think it'll be a good daily driver/off road setup. Decided against spending all my monies on long travel.... I don't wheel enough to necessitate it :anonymous:

Spend the money when you have more time and can dedicate it to a wheeling rig. I'm fortunate to have 2 other (paid off) vehicles so I get to abuse the runner more than I should. She's getting ready for some upgrades that should alleviate some of my pains.

You’re not wrong here. It’s really dependent if the individual will ever fade or need more dampening control than a 2.0. Most will not.

    But you think you’ll necessitate a 2.5”?

2.5” usually ride harsher and most people will not outrun a 2.0”. I’m not saying they aren’t a great option, I’m saying they aren’t necessary for 80% of people who “wheel.”

Both products I have from that dude are legit. But my wheelers are pretty solid.
As shane stated you will need to do a shock relocate with welding new mounts here is a good write up on it. And you dont need 2.5s...your truck is light af...if anything adjust those adjusters on the rear haha

Keep in mind this will throw off your leaf cycle measurments if you do the flip, and may mean you need different length shocks...

I know I don’t need them, but I want them. Also don’t NEED your bumper... but I want it.

But on the shock length thing, the shocks that are on the rear right now are more than likely long enough. Yeah they’re not 1st gen Tacoma specific shocks, they came off a 2500hd Chebby.

Also, I have the adjusters for the rear as soft they will go, the chebby shocks are just so stiff hahaha

We dont NEED any of this shit if you really want to go down that road, but if you are going to invest money into your rig a bumper will do you a lot more for you than 2.5”s for the rear.

The shocks you have are very likely long enough if you were referring to just moving the lower mount in order to do a u-bolt flip. You could mount the bottom tab lower and gain some bump travel on the shaft. This is probably the more cost effective way of going.

You had numerous chances to lighten the calving on those FOR FREE but you’re too damn lazy to remove them...

If you’re not doing much mid-high speed driving you again will not benefit much from a 2.5 over a 2.0. You don’t need the 2.5 benefits for slow speed stuff.

Again, not saying don’t do it. I’m just throwing alternative info out.
