I have 265/70/17 KO2s 6-ply (c load) and saw a 2-3mpg drop in the summer when I switched from stock. That was essentially my first mod. City went from 18ish to 15ish. Highway 21-22 down to 18-19. Then winter gas is roughly another -1mpg

    My options:
    BFGOODRICH ALL TERRAIN T/A KO2 LT265 /70 R17 112S C1 BSW CM - weight 46
    FALKEN- WILDPEAK A/T3W- 265 /70 R17 115T SL RBL weight 47

Here they are on my Cavalry Blue. Probably not the most practical for rock crawling but...I also didnt want to hit my knees on all the others that stick out 2 feet.

That would be cool because its a great color, the discontinued CB in the states for 2020.

FYI, in case anyone was wondering. I installed a set of these sliders on a 2nd gen today even though they’re only listed for third gens. They fit right up with the exception of having to drill one hole at the aft end under the frame rail on each side. From a couple posts I read here apparently that’s required on third gens too. The instructions were useless but I just skimmed them and didn’t bother reading them completely. In their defense, I’m more of a “look at the pictures” instruction reader and their pictures were garbage.

I didn’t take pictures but hopefully @Georgeth1022 can post some. The fit is spot on and much better than I expected.

I have been driven the Tacoma with the Slider and I love the looks, but is a Pain the cleaning between the slider and the truck, I have the impresion that is impossible clean the internal part of the slider that at the end of the day is part of the lower part of the tacoma, have you find a way to clean this part?

    Thanks

Has anyone actually slid on these TJM sliders? Love the design, but want to know if they've flexed or come close to the cab?

Havent actually tested them yet. Originally installed them because I wanted rock protection without hitting my knees on all the others that kick out so much. Saved a few bucks, but wish i wouldve gone with RCI. For serious offroading i would think youd need the kickouts for boulders that come from the side. These protect more underneath.

Anyone actually slid on these? Is there any flex? Love the look, however I'm wondering how much protection they provide.

I’m picking a set up Wednesday from a member. They look like they will fit my needs good (mostly Fsv roads) I love that they don’t stick out. I’ll give an honest report of them.

I have slid heavily on mine and can’t complain. That said, these are the only rock sliders I have experience with and don’t want to pretend that I am sliding on these weekly like others do. I got hung up and was stuck for over an hour, scraped a lot of the bed liner off (had them done at a shop), but other than that it was all good.

I have not been in a situation where I needed mine. That said, installation materials forced you to find your own way. I ended up not drilling holes in the frame and had numerous bolts leftover. It makes me wonder what will happen when the weight of the truck is applied to them.
