I'm too old for that sh!t anymore, my neck and back are sore this morning LOL!! But when you get cornered I guess it becomes instinct and reaction rather than anger.

Thanks for the feedback Todd! I am thinking about doing this in my 97 4Runner that Bianca will be driving. It certainly needs it, but I am concerned it will make it hazardous to drive with the kind in the back seat. It is really that much of a non issue when driving on dry ground? What about big freeway interchanges.. do they have those in Bryan ? :p

LOL, yea there are a few exchanges, big thing is cows in the road;).
But all honestly, I have not encountered any situations so far that has had me worried with the locker. I haul my kids around with me as well and feel no worries at all.

Got a new "toy" project I will be adding to the '98. Over the next few weeks I'll be adding a 1st gen TRD supercharger. Picked up a '97 3.4L motor (out of a 5 lug truck), complete still sitting in the frame rails, all accesories, wiring, ecu ect. along with a 5sp tranny, and the supercharger for a screaming deal. I plan on documenting the tear down and rebuild of the SC and install of how it all goes.
Got my parts from www.rollingperformance.com for the S/C rebuild and belt and check valve from Toyota.
Here are some pics to start off with:
    Still on the motor
    [IMG]
    Fresh off the motor
    [IMG]
Already painted the bracket, idlers, and timing belt cover

    Thanks.
Initialy I was going to keep this truck pretty much stock with normal upgrades and general maintenance items. But, I came across this deal (SC) and figured I would install it the same as Toyota and see what comes of it. No 7th injector, no tuner, just bolt it on put 93 oct in and go.
I'l get some pics of the tear down later today.

You where going to leave it pretty much stock & then you remembered that you have never left a single truck stock in you life & decided "why start now"? LOL. No 7th injector or tuner.......We will have to see about that.

    Started taking the SC apart.
Front nose nut came off easy, pulled the pully off, unbolted the nose and it came off easily. Oil inside was nasty smelling, but no metal or wear inside.
Rotor casing was a little pain to get apart but got it.
Rotors/casing had a little scaring, smoothed the casing with a little sand paper and gonna leave the rotors alone other than clean those up.
Bead blasted the intake housing inside and out, blasted the outside of the rotor housing, and cleaned other items.
Not sure about the taking apart the two main shafts the rotors and gears are on, need to do a little more research on those. I might just leave those alone.
Next is to re-paint everything. I'm waitng on the bearing/seal kit buit that gives me time to get everything else ready.
Here are a few disassembled pics:

After some research I found out to replace the rotor bearings they have to be sent to Magnuson to be rebuilt. So, for now everything else is getting replaced, cleaned, bead blasted, re-painted, and put back together. Still waiting on the bearings but have everything else painted and ready to go.
FYI, I do suggest using a press to get all the bearings out, they where tiiiight. A BFH might get them out but could cause casing damage.

Paid $1000 for everything, supercharger, motor, tranny, ECU, wiring harness, basically the whole front clip on the truck minus body panels.
    Got lucky I guess;)

Got the bearings in and install went smooth. Again, a press makes rebuilding much easier.
here are the components ready for assembly:
new coupler installed, the old one had a lot of slop compared to the new one and really tightened things up.
Sealed everything up with gasket maker:
An easy way to loosen/tighten the pully nut:
And the finished assembly painted and ready to install. I'll probably put it on Saturday and post on how that goes:

Really nice! You can definatlly feel the difference from before to after the rebuild when you spin the pulley by hand.

Yep, I thought the bearings felt decent when I first got it, they felt and looked fine even after pulling it apart. But after the rebuild it was much smoother and no slop, definately made a differrence.
