Do the white head light mod instead. Color matching looks sweet

I wouldn't go back to stock. One of my favorite mods. Intimidating the first time you do it but not too bad after that.

I want to do mine, but not sure if it will impact the lighting capabilities. Not only that I would hate to F'm all up.

The fuckem up part was what worried me most. As far as the light output. No difference. I painted the DTRL reflector so obviously that doesn't reflect light but I have noticed no difference at night with the light output from the headlights themselves.

^ This. Your light output shouldn't change at all. You're leaving the chrome reflectors alone. Andy, since you're in Atlanta and its 30-45 mins away from Gainesville, shoot me a PM and I'll help ya! OP, here is mine next to stock. Honestly I don't think I would go back. With that being said, do it!

I love the look of mine. I hated the bitch of peeling them apart. I wonder why Toyota never made this an option? I know they had the gunmetal, but black looks so much better.

Do it. I went with a Duplicolor MGM instead of black, but you can't tell much of a difference until you are up close. And just for whoring purposes

    ^ X2

The only hard part is convincing yourself to put your lights in the oven lol.

I did my first one back in 2005 when I first found about it. When I read what you had to do I was like...

"You want me to fucking do what???" But I went for it and it turned out well.

Been doing them every since. I want to do it to my FR-S bad but for the first time in a while... I'm scared to do that one. It would look awesome but if I fuck it up they are expensive as shit to replace.

I will most likely just do it.. But am scared that they will leak or fog up.. and im real anal about my mods and stuff being perfect and clean looking. I want it to look almost factory, you know.

    Yes I do :)

I'm the same as you. I like people to ask... are those lights factory? Then you know you did a good job.

BHLM should come on all or most vehicles stock. It just looks much better, imo

Ditto. I painted my housings with Duplicolor MGM also when I did my projector retrofit. My WRX had similar colored housings (MGM instead of black). I tried Duplicolor Black Chrome at first, but it turned out uneven with a slight green tint.

I'm digging this with the wheels. Are they painted also?

Those look like the painted from factory FJ Cruiser anthracite wheels to me. Got a set myself

Yep, Anthracite from the factory. Not the Tacoma factory, the FJ mutant ninja turtle factory. Scored them from another TW member a few months ago.

I think im just going to do it.. It does make our trucks look way better!

But after I do it, I think the front will have too much black goingt on.. Ive seen my truck with the BHLM and the Emblem black also and I think its too much black..
I may either paint my emblem white or a gray/silver. What do you think?
