Any chance CT laws are just as forgiving? I've actually got family friends out there.

Well, for the past half hour or so I've been going through craigslist state-by-state compiling some road trip worthy Tundras around the budget. Of course the best ones are in Texas and California but I never turn down a week on the road. Could definitely be a possibility

if you register a vehicle in CT from out of state, you'll have to take it to a certified station where they do a VIN verification.
The stupid thing is (or was) that you must change your drivers license over to CT in order to register a car here. So stupid, so many vacation homes in CT with cars that live here, but the owners are residents in NY, so all the cars are registered in NY. Stupid.

The cap is faded, but I kinda like the red w/ the Lunar Mist Metallic, so I may just revive the cap. Or not.
The cap doesn't fit the step side so it had to go to the trailer. Did you catch the RTT in the garage? Going to go on top.

Back to the main question though - the first gen's are so easy to work on, if you find a price friendly one, solid substructure & can swap parts - go for it.
