It has GT47 80mm Turbo on 3.0L engine, taking into consideration it has twin scroll turbo manifold & 150 n2o shot to help spool the turbo. Without nitrous the turbo might start making boost between 4-5k rpm. So you have N/A car below 4k rpm. Who revs their car that high during daily driving?

IMHO if you are building a street car, get a turbo which will spool around 2-2.5k rpm and have full boost by 3k rpm. That car will be much, much more fun to drive...

Not really, just keep it easy on the skinny ped and it's fine. That's one nice thing about turbo's.... it only spools hard if you have the exhaust to do it.

The other thing to remember is that it'll take a while after the new 2013 model comes out for aftermarket lift/shock/suspension components to become available for it.

With the current 4Runner we may have a leg up on the game, but it'll be trial and error to find out exactly what's the same and what's different. So if you want to drive it off the lot and into the garage for mods, having a 2011/2012 is a better bet.

Thats a good point. I bet it will take toyota several years to get a TRD supercharger out on the market for the 3rd gen Tacoma. Im not sure when it was officially available for the 2nd gen, but it was long after I stopped selling
    Toyotas.
