Once again gas prices have rocketed to the $4/gallon mark...I love the Tacoma, should I still buy one??

In the end, the price of gas is going to change your montly fuel costs by like 50 bux a month plus or minus.

That said, if you need a truck, do not buy a car. You'll only trade it in later and lose way more on the upside trade than a couple extra bucks a month in fuel.

If you can't afford 50 - 100 bux extra in fuel a month, you might need to re-calibrate some finances before buying anything at all.

I happily put premium in my truck and tow a travel trailer getting 11MPG because I enjoy doing it, and no car on earth can do that. So to me, it doesn't really matter what fuel costs.

I'm not much help thanks to 808matt's sig

On topic - what the others said - just get one. If you buy a car and later end up trading it in for the truck, you'll be even farther behind.

Just get a 2.7l Tacoma. You'll get decent mpgs and still have your truck! I had an 05 dcablb v6 4x4 and I traded down to the 2.7l reg cab. I didn't need the extra space or power. I found that the 4cyl had more than enough power and it fits my needs!

Don't buy one if you're concerned about gas prices. Toyota has the Prius for that.

If you need one buy it. I picked up a 2011 DC sport last Friday. I'm perfectly happy with the decision. Traded my 05 & get about the same gas mileage. I think the new one may be 1-2 mpg better.

After engine break in I am getting 21-22 almost all the time on hwy. Windy days mess with it a bit but I am very pleased with the mile mpgs.
