Long story short been looking for a daily since I drive 30 miles roughly to work one way. Family member has this 08 Nissan Altima loaded leather sun roof the whole 9. 230k miles. Clean title. Good tires. Mechanic says it needs a “tune up” and a coil pack. Car runs smooth no cel. So not sure how he determined that. She wants 500$ for the car. Worth it? Is 230k a lot for a Nissan?

Does this have the CVT transmission?

I’m not sure. How would I know? I think the car has the 3.5 or what ever motor they come with. Car is a little ways from me so I’m gonna make the drive tmo to look it over good. All I’ve seen is pics of the car and a video of it running. My uncle drove it for me said it seemed solid. But I wanna see for myself

Just read a review on the cvt trans. Sounds like a problem. Should I stay away??

$500 is a good price, however I looked up this year model and it does have a CVT tranny. I heard the Nissan CVT are crap, so buyer beware.

That bad? Seemed like a good deal to me. Now these trans issues have me second guessing

when it comes to nissans, it is best to stick to a manual transmission. Worst that can happen with that is needing to switch out the clutch.

Also if you're looking for a daily reliable beater, spend more than $500 and don't get too caught up on the leather options/frills and thrills. Don't look at paint, or anything aesthetics. Strictly function and straightness. Missing hubcaps, peeling clearcoat, torn driver's seat? Who cares as long as engine/tranny work and there are no electrical gremlins.
