I've utilized the search bar and come up with nothing but confusion... I've read of people stuffing 285/75/16s on stock suspension with no rubbing, people with 3 inches saying they needed to do the CMC... just curious if running a OME suspension lift(886 coils and a front bumper), SPC uppers, on stock OR wheels and 1.25 spacers will 285s rub...or will I need to do the CMC.. Thanks boys..

285/75/16 tires on TRD OR Wheels with 1" spacers on approx 3" of lift and yes I needed to do the CMC. I never rubbed on road but I did occasionally offroad so I would rather get it chopped and never worry about it again

Always plan for a CMC... city driving you might get away with it. If you OFf road just do the CMC.

Do the CMC, it's no big deal and you wont have to worry about it anymore.

I've had 2 sets of 285s(STT PROs, and General Grabber X3s) on 2 different offsets(TRD PRO, and VTX) on OME lift with stock uppers for 60k miles
and almost zero rubbing. I installed 1.25" spacers, and went trail riding. They were on my truck for about 14hrs, before I removed them
and sold them because it rubbed like crazy. I've wheeled it a handful of times since their removal, and have since rubbed zero times.

Do the lift and tires and drive it. Then it if rubs do the cmc.

Worst case it rubs off road only. Or maybe only maxed turns. Not a big for daily driving if it does rub.

For the record I had a 2.5” lift, 285’s, and 4.5bs wheels and mine didn’t rub there. Not even off road.

I’d assume since the last part of my post said “even off road” you could have figure that out. :hattip:

    I was just wondering.

I have a 3" OME lift, 285, on a 4.5" BS wheel and I have done the following:

    - Mudflaps removed.
    - Plastic trimmed where the mudflaps mount.
    - fender liners COMPLETELY removed (now)
    - beat in Pinch weld
    - CMC

and I still will rub off pavement :anonymous:

Forgive me, but when someone tells me they do not rub and go off pavement, I just, frankly, do not believe them.

What if is said I frankly don’t believe you?

I don’t really care if you believe me or not. Mine didn’t rub. At all. They did before my alignment. That’s for sure.

I once had 1” wheel spacers. That made them rub.

My truck had hundreds of off road miles with that set up. No rubbing (after an alignment).

If it makes you feel better, my current setup rubs even with the cab mount pretty much gone. That’s street driving too.

Here. This wasn’t full lock in the pic but was close to that after the pic. Rear tire off the ground and front tire off the ground if I rocked it. No rubbing. I’m sorry. I don’t know why. Maybe I just got lucky. I think a lot to do with it was the alignment.

Seems like every other week I'm taking the dremel to cut some more. Shit is never ending. Here's a picture of my CMC OP. Needed to chop quite a bit.

    285/70/17
    4.3BS + 1.25" spacers
    3" lift

I was barely hitting the cab mount with my 285’s until I added castor. No CMC needed here
