    Ok so looks like the main reason was reusable filter and lowering maintenance costs. AFE sells a drop in filter for 50 bucks (lifetime).

    You decided to go with a 250 dollar option over the 50 dollar option. The OP wants to go with a spindle lift over a aftermarket coilover lift.

    King 2.5" extended travel coilovers with compression adjusters, Camburg UCA's, King 2.5" rear shocks, TRD 1st gen CAI.
    its simple, lift spindles give you lift and gussets dont. spindles are also a great option for someone not wanting to put a p.o.s. drop bracket lift on their truck.

    Seems that the 4x4 guys are jealous. This is the most sane way of lifting a truck. If it was possible for you 4x4 guys to use these I bet 75% if not more would. You get 4" of lift without even having to buy a brop-bracket lift or spend tons on coilovers and ucas. Why buy coilovers? uca's? You already have those too dont ya?

    Oh absolutely. If they offered them for 4x4s (and the weakass, low articulation CV axles could take it) I'd do it in a heartbeat.

    So the OPs preference for spindles is primarily revolving around ride quality via being able to reduce CO preload? Am I getting that right?

    Just to clarify so hopefully everyone understands. I'm already running Icons front and rear. My hopes are to dial down the preload on the Icons and get a better ride. Although I already do love the ride, Im just thinking that it can be better.

    Well why are you so interested in seeing the OP's reasoning. Obviously he hasnt come up with a reasoning hence this thread. Let's say even if he only wanted 3.5" of lift. What would he need? Coilovers cranked to 3.5" and new uca's. That would be around $1200 for the cheapest stuff he could buy. And he would have a terrible ride.

    If he replaced his UCAs and used the right equipment (ext travel COs) he'd be fine.

    I'm at 3" on ext-travel Icons with TC UCAs and have about 4" of droop.

    Besides, front-suspension downtravel for 2wd is a moot point.

    4" of lift for $1,000 in parts and stock geometry

    camburg Coilovers
    3" of lift and UCA's. looking at $1,500+ and lose down travel.


    I think they are both great options

    Edit: but Spindles seem like the better lift
