Realistically, both would be a problem.

I'm sure you could make a bolt in support bar so that you could pass it through the hole. But at that point, why? You don't get the extra clearance, but you still have to permanently alter your bedside.

I’m confused on the intent of a “no cutting” bumper then if you’re ok with a hole saw. If you make the cut straight and use edge trim, it looks clean as can be. And much simpler and stronger than the hypothetical “no cut but maybe a little cutting” one haha

A hole saw to cut access to small tubing that is not visible from the outside is much different than cutting 2x1 rectangle out of the bottom of your truck.

I disagree, as it’s still an irreversible modification, but I digress.

I havent taken apart the bed of the tacoma but I was assuming that there was metal between the frame and the bed, There isnt, I was incorrect. So you wouldnt need to drill or cut anything.

The bumper would come a little lower than the frame rails and then could come in to the middle of the vehicle and the supports could come up. Bypassing any cutting

And no support on the part of the wings that stick up to keep them from bending inward, and hitting the bed. That’s what we’re talking about

There is, it wraps around the quarter panel and goes straight up to the frame. The company is 4x4labs. Arguably the best LC bumpers

If something were to press against the top of this, like leaning up against a rock, or slipping sideways and hitting it against a rock, it would deflect and make contact with the truck. Unless I'm missing something. If you have a pic of a bare bumper off the truck I'd love to see it.

Someone posted a pic of a bumper that looked day like it’s had some kinda frame supports.

Im looking for a bare pic now, The upper edge of that wing doesnt have support, but the lower does, and I believe its 1/4 inch steel

Gotcha, we're on the same page then and that's what I assumed the design would be like. I understand where you're coming from but an unsupported piece of plate steel like that would deflect relatively easily. I'm no engineer, but have learned a little bit (I like to think so at least) being around @jowybyo and @Mobtown Offroad who are.

Here is my 80. No cutting required. took it on buggy trails all the time with no issue. The top part of the wing isnt what you need to worry about, the most damage that happens there is when the truck comes off of a rock and the weight hits the bottom of it. You arent taking horizontal hits to the side of your truck very much when crawlin. It kinda looks like there was cutting, but the fender/mud flap on the rear are removable, so hwen you arent wheelin, you can put em back on. Ill try and find a pic

True, I guess it's no different than the little tube kickout on the bruteforce HC bumper. A hard enough hit will bend it inward, but it does fine for light stuff like rubbing against a tree.
