    I can't be the only one who's skeptical about engine tunes, but I don't wanna feed any trolls either so help out another newb here. Also, I'm asking as someone who will leave their truck bone stock. I (think) I understand that if you mod your truck away from the Toyota design with lifts and bigger tires, all your powertrain ratios are out the door and a tune/re-gear could totally solve some problems.

    Why doesn't Toyota tune them the way these aftermarket tunes do? If it's only increases in power and MPGs, wouldn't the manufacturer do it? (or are the people who boast MPG increases just louder than everyone else?)

    Yet, they don't. It begs the question(s): what's the drawback? what's the risk?

    They have more experience designing, manufacturing, and servicing cars than anyone and everyone here. They have way more resources to perform valuable research, which they do. So what gives?

    Excellent post. I was asking exactly the same questions myself, would love to know the answers. From what I was reading on here is that the 3rd gen rollout was rushed.
