Keep it. I eventually would love to have that.

I'd love to have a setup like that... however, I have been completely spoiled and wussified by the reverse camera in the tailgate handle... don't think I can ever go back.

I'd rather mount it in the bed and have the visibility back.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
That is what I miss most about my second gen lol. Probably going to install one in my first gen one of these days.

Agreed with some, blocking the tailgate camera would be too much for me to bear.

I think they look great like that, but as others have said I don't know if I would be willing to give up my backup camera.

I didn't think about blocking the camera. I would have been ok with that until I put my cap on. Now I can't see shit out the back so I totally rely on my camera.

did you re mount the camera? If you moved the camera then who cares about visibility, leave that shit right there!

I'm about to fab up a rear hanger like that because my high clearance bumper won't allow me to use the stock spare location. My concern is that I'll lose visibility and the rear camera, but was going to try to relocate it. Anyone have thoughts?

Swingout tire carriers are awesome if you need to carrier extra gear, a spare, jack, chain saw, jerry cans, etc... They can be an annoyance after a while too, especially if you use your bed a lot (makes it even more inconvenient if you have a cap on the bed). I built my rear bumper and tire carrier a couple years ago and it gave me the bed back to haul gear, and other stuff but it's become more of a PITA than it's worth to me. Since I'm jumping up from a 33" tire to 37" tires mounted to recentered H1 double beadlocks I'm removing the bumper and carrier. Too heavy of wheel and tire combo for me to want to have back there blocking the view and trying to open and close the carrier all the time. Instead I'm going to fab up a complete steel tube cage/ flatbed so I won't be installing it. I'll mount the spare under the flatbed/ over the frame rails.

I guess it all comes down to personal preference and whether or not you access the bed of your truck a lot. I liked the having the swingout tire carrier, it helped out a lot but was always in the way if I had to access the bed for stuff either on the trail or street.

    none yet
Personall, that set up is too much of a hindrance. I'd put it back under the bed if it still fits that larger tire.

I would keep it there. I have a license plate frame backup camera though. (2005's didn't have the tailgate camera). With my HC rear bumper and all the rock crawling I do I can't run the spare in the factory spot so it is strapped down in my bed and takes up space...

Don't really like it there. But I doubt it'll fit underneath.
