You are correct, Florida. Unfortunately for me the garage only fits my wife's car.

    WARNING TO DRIVER
This vehicle has been modified to enhance off-road performance and has unique handling characteristics. Because of the higher center of gravity and/or larger tires and wheels, this vehicle has a higher risk of rollover, and handles and reacts differently than your stock vehicle, both on and off road. Extreme care should be taken to prevent vehicle rollover or loss of control which can result in serious injury or death. Avoid sudden sharp turns or abrupt maneuvers. Slow down. Be sure to get comfortable with your newly modified vehicle. Finally, be sure that you and your passengers use their seatbelts at all times - seatbelts save lives!
IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE INFORMATION It is the customer's sole responsibility to have all nuts and bolts re-checked for tightness and proper fitment within 10 days after delivery, and then every 3,000 miles thereafter. Please return your vehicle to any 4 Wheel Parts location so this can be done for you free of charge. This is critical for your safety and the safety of the people around you. Failure to do so can result in product malfunction which, in turn, can lead to serious injury or death. Also, wheel alignment and steering, suspension and driveline systems should be inspected by a qualified mechanic at least every 3,000 miles to ensure the safety of your vehicle.
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS Customer and 4 Wheel Parts agree that all claims against the other relating to the purchase/provision of products or services shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, be resolved in binding arbitration before the American Arbitration Association, and may only be brought in an individual capacity, and not as part of a class action. Customer may reject this arbitration clause by sending 4 Wheel Parts a rejection notice within 30 days of the date hereof.

Believe me Cudgel, if I could I would, I am missing a skills chromosome or something. I did do carpentry work on Long Island 3 or so decades ago but I've been behind a desk for way too many years. There are mechanics in the family but all too far away or too old these days. Besides, if everyone could do everything for themselves who would be there to help boost the economy. It's poor schmucks like me that depend on the professionals to do the job right the 1st time, but if you ever need your taxes done I am your man.

Why leather seats in hot humid Florida? Check out some sheepskin front seat covers. Very comfortable all 4 seasons and they look good too.

Maaco can be good or bad, just depends on the location and how much you are willing to spend. My father had some damage to his suv that needed to be fixed, and the Maaco he went to did a great job. When I got my truck it had been damaged slightly being offloaded and Carvana made me take it to a specific Maaco to fix the paint - they did a shit job all around, missed half the spots they were supposed to fix, paint is orange peeled and the clearcoat is already chipping just a few months later.

Personally, if I were paying for it I wouldn't take the risk that Maaco does a shit job. I'd go find a shop that knows what they are doing.

My vehicle before this truck was a Genesis, it had black leather seats. To me it was extremely comfortable and the heat never really bothered me. I really like this seat 43880509_2086364724715136_8395807868426649600_n.jpg

I am going to price around the paint job. There are a couple of paint and autobody clients near me that have been in service for many years. I would definitely trust their work, but if the price is too outrageous I may have no other choice than Maaco. As they say, Better get Maaco.

This is my color matched tonneau cover. I absolutely would never get rid of it, but as you can see the clear coat is pealing off and it also must be painted.

Why not make your truck a Hot Rod?

Primer, don't paint. Get a nice set of Volks. Find some TRD Pro Foxs from a 3rd gen. Add a super charger!

There is no mention of what type of lift that is. 4K is a lot especially if a spacer lift.

    DIY Fabricobbler.
Get a reputable shop to OEM color match and repaint just your faded hood and roof. Buff and wax the rest of the truck.

If the paint color isn't damaged on the bed cover, just get that wet sanded back to solid material and get reclear coated.

Then once all the paint and clear have cured properly. Seal and wax the crap out of that new paint to protect it.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
This is a lot of money for not much, it looks like its a spacer lift and they have your wheels as 5 lug not 6. If you are lifting over 2 inches you will want aftermarket UCAs to help get a good wheel alignment.
You should check out Dobinsons, @Crikeymike is in Florida I think and supplies shocks, and leaf springs for lifting.
    https://exitoffroad.com/product-category/toyota/tacoma/tacoma-2nd-gen/full-kits-tacoma-2nd-gen/
Most shops charge an hour labor per item, 4 shocks - 4 hours, UCAs - 2 hours, Leaf Springs - 2 hours. They can do it quicker but thats pretty standard.
8 hours labour at $120. Then a wheel alignment so you don't roast your new tires.

I am glad your paint job came out good.

You should be mindful of whose comments you dismiss before knowing anything about them. I have been an auto adjuster since ‘97 and dealt with all types of body shop. I have I-car, Chief, and ASE certifications.

I agree we really should not knock a company in general, but there are different levels of quality. I have yet to see a Maaco fully de-trim a door to paint it. Lift those rubber moulding a bit and you may see tape lines, look close at all the plastic and there may be overspray. Look up close in the paint for little nibs, or around the antenna mast.

It just comes down to quality control and customer expectations.

I agree with you mostly but I’m sick of people knocking Maaco who don’t have first hand knowledge. They are going by what they’ve heard not what they know. Im quite pleased with the job they did on my truck and my neighbor is also happy with his. Mine is a 12 year old truck. I don’t care about possible tape lines under a rubber molding that you can’t see anyway, I see no overspray anywhere, no nibs and nothing around the antenna. I think if you go for their cheap basic paint job you’ll find more problems and less quality control. I think many of the complainers go for a cheap $800 paint job and then complain that it doesn’t look like a million dollar paint job. I think if I was having my Corvette painted I’d probably go for the $6000 to $10,000 or more paint job by some one other than Maaco. But we are talking about a truck 8 or more years old. If a person wants to spend big bucks painting an old used pickup go for it. But I’d rather pay $2500 , have the truck look damn good and maybe have some minor little flaws that no one will notice unless they are eagle eyed with a magnifying glass.

Sir, please just have the truck painted by someone who knows what they are doing. Just the parts that are pealing.

and this is a great time to tell everyone to protect your truck from the sun. Paint will peal if you don’t take care of it. Wax it often (every other month) or ceramic coat it (every other year)
