So im needing help with my rear suspension. I added a smartcap and plan to add a rtt next year so I would like to upgrade with Deaver leaf but I have the trd upgraded suspension lift with a 1" block lift in rear.
With the extra weight is the added 1.5" Deaver enough? Is it just that simple as to remove block and install leafs?
    Any other recommendations?

This. Rear springs are notoriously weak.

Another option is to add air bags. They do have some drawbacks but they are very inexpensive and can be installed in a couple hours with very basic tools.

It is as simple as that as far as I know. And I second the suggestion to go full leaf pack. I did the aal and it disappointed… a lot. Icon Rxt replaced my aal and the difference in ride quality is worlds apart.

Airbags are great! Depending on your load you can adjust for ride height and comfort.

Are you highly invested in a aftermarket leaf spring reseller?

If you load changes a lot, then airbags are great. But it seems as though your load will be permanent (cap + RTT), then air bags are not the best choice and you should get new leaf pack. (Or AAL if that’s enough which I doubt).

Yea, the high price on the good leaf packs is too offputting for a brand new truck, unless you really need the extra load carrying capacity immediately.
The brand new stock leaf packs look to be unsellable so I opted for wheelers aal in back.
Will have a permanent load of around 250 in the bed. Soon will see if they work or not.

$170 for both sides including u bolts. Hope to run that till they flop out then pony up some cash for a full leaf pack and run that for the rest of the trucks life. Is the idea atleast ;)

I read and read and read about options to lift the rear of my truck.. I have a high clearance bumper, bed rack, and RTT on the bed. Everything I read said that the stock springs are pretty much junk.

I was going to go with an AAL at first but I even read of guys putting on AAL’s and then later regretting it and just buying whole new springs. So I decided to go with OME Dakars from the start to save time and money in the long run. No regrets on my choice.

I ran an add a leaf for almost 8 years in my truck. I used my truck like a truck, firewood ,dirt bikes ,hunting gear etc. The ride quality was okay and I was able to load the truck with minimal sag. By the time I replaced it I was running on a broken leaf. Now I run the Icon pack on stage 2 . Ride quality is way better, load capacity is very good, not looking at the moon when loaded and no axle wrap on acceleration. I guess what I'm trying to say is the add a leaf is ok for a temporary fix if finances are tight but a leaf pack is the probably a better way to go. Buy once cry once.

No, but I know shitty rear leaf springs live under stock Tacomas.
I’ve tried air bags, add a leaf’s, and they don’t even compare to real leaf springs. Like not even on the same page, shit, not even in the same book.

You already spent quite a bit of money on smart cap. And you're planning to get a RTT. What's another $800 for leaf packs to get the job done right the first time.
I spent $200 for AAL. Labor is free... Just my time spent installing plus my time again for alignment.
Then 6 months later switched it out for OME leaf pack. And another alignment. My truck is 2017 and I must have done 8 alignments. Truck only has 42k mi.
Then almost a yr later Icon comes out with their leaf pack.
Lexus mantra... Fix right the first time

    Yes
why did you need a new alignment when working on your leaf springs ? ...that doesn't affect your front end alignment at all ?
