I think they look good when you have bigger tires to accommodate them, on stock trucks they look goofy

No worries, won't break my heart if it's not, was only wanting an SR5 anyways. I really don't have any way to tell afaik. It's only a 4x2 not a 4x4, didn't want a 4x4 nor a trd it was just a good deal at the time. If it's not, doesn't bother me too much. All I know is it has the stickers (could've been added by previous owners to make his penis seem bigger) but hell if I know honestly.

Do you have a sunglasses holder or off-road knobs in headliner?

Yeah, I think he had bigger tires at the time swapped them out at trade in I assume, too bad they didn't come with truck too. Looks like he also had a lightbar on it, and a topper...all removed.

Yeah, been majorly on the fence over these cause it's like "too damn big!" but been nervous about paint but I guess the longer I wait the worse it would get (if there's any rub damage at all even ).

Sunglass holder yes with only one button up top, believe its traction control (maybe locker but I don't think that's right). Since it's not a 4x4 there shouldn't be many OR buttons available anyways right? The little button looks like tires skidding on the road.

Leave them till you get bigger wheels and tires. They look funky now but F it, they are on now.

I thought it was supposed to but since day 1 I've kinda been under the impression the last owner slapped those TRD OR stickers to feel better about himself. The only button I got up top is I believe traction control, looks like this (not pic from actual truck):

    TRAC-4-1.jpg

But seeing as how I'm still Tacoma dumb, I gotta depend on yall for that education and correction. Hell, damn Toyota dealer kept calling it a TRD OR....haha. Still, could just be a base SR5.

Did you buy it from a dealer? If so, I’d get them to make amends with freebies or an aftermarket locker or something!

Yup, straight from Toyota dealer, certified pre-owned. It was too cheap for a TRD OR anyways, lol

If you painted them blue it would look great and blend. Factory ones look too mallish, too skinny. 2nd Gen flares were bigger and looked better imo. Those flares on black trucks with bigger tires look awesome.

Hmmm, well decision has been made for me I think. I definitely can't take these off, dudes must've had them on since day one. There is definitely prominent rubbing, scratches, and paint damage where they meet the body.

I doubt the OEM style reach the same distance out so might just have to deal with it for now, and maybe buy new wheels and tires sooner than later

I was thinking the same thing. Wrong wheels and grille. Does it have the button for the rear locker and crawl control?

Edit: Should have read second page first. Haha

The grill was the first clue to me, never seen a TRD with the SR5 style grill. Stickers will be removed, unfortunately the flares cannot (edited first post).

I could be wrong, but these don't exactly look like the same flares as yours? Or is it just the angle/smaller wheels?

Could be the stock wheels on my truck are throwing it off...BY ALOT. That and they don't look bad at all on a black truck, with nice wheels/tires, etc. Those flares do look like what I have on mine, in my opinion at least.

They're definitely faux flares, no drilled holes obviously, only the one under/inside the wheel well itself. I did find what seems to be the original clips (most snapped off) from OEM flares under these, but with these flares being so wide the OEMs will never cover the damage line across the truck.
