To signal, or not signal, that is the question

Ya know, I drive around town every day watching people weaving in and out of traffic, cutting people off, while not using their turn signals. It's as though they think I can read their minds or something when they are about to change lanes.

Then just today, in the heat of rush hour traffic, there’s a gentleman waiting patiently to enter the flow of traffic. I immediately notice he’s using his turn signal and I hand gesture him to turn in front of me as I brake gently to let him into my lane. He hand gestures back a “thank you” and all is well. So I ask, are you a turn-signal guy or a non turn-signal guy and why ?

Signal, all the time every time, even if no one is around. Just a habit at this point.

Too much signaling is also an issue though, at least around me. Pulled out in front of a guy who turned his on, he blew through the intersection at 50 and almost killed us both. He didn't actually turn for at least two more blocks after nearly nailing me. Never made that mistake again.

I used to drive BMWs, so learning to use my signals again has been a struggle. But I am making progress every day.

I'm a turn-signal guy. I figure maybe the blinking light will get someone's head up from their phone and/or out of their azz.
I'm a fairly conservative driver. My old man always said "driving's a full-time job." He also used to say "the life you save may be mine." Were he around today I don't know what he'd say but it would contain more expletives than wit.

Tbqh, situation dependent. No one around, probably not, in a marked turn lane 50/50, freeway in between packs, probably.

In the city with narrow Lanes and lots cars, bikes, and the like, 100%

Turn signal - almost all the time.
Except in the Boston area - using signals there is a sign of cowardice.
    Pet peeve:
People who ride their brake and then signal just before they turn the steering wheel. The signal should go on BEFORE the brake lights go on so those behind know what hell you're slowing down for.
    2nd peeve:
Folks who forget to turn the signal off when autocancel doesn't.

Signal as much as possible, at least until all the blinker fluid gets used up.

Good habit to have, and at least once in your life it’ll keep you from side swiping someone in your blind spot, who’ll lay on their horn and scare the shit outta you as you swerve back into your lane.

Some clown in a BMW tried to force lane change into my lane today almost ramming my truck in the process. I gassed it while blowing the horn off the hook.
He flipped me off when he went by and I just smiled. He had really fat fingers a fat arm and a really fat head.
