Dealership just called and asked if I wanted to switch to 2016 Tacoma quicksand color and 4 door. Only thing holding me back is its automatic and I way prefer manual. image.jpg image.jpg I've been paying on truck for about 2 years now and are offering same payments. To take it or not is real question!?

I want to want a 3rd gen, but I wouldn't get this first model year.

    Also, everybody gets that call.

If they are calling you, it means they want to make more money at your expense. Dealership salesfolk are NOT your friend and do NOT have your best interest in mind.

Stick with your 2nd Gen. Toyota ruined the Tacoma with the 3rd Gen. Just browse that forum for a while and you'll see the owners are just as poorly built as the trucks.

I'd vote for keeping the 2nd gen.

I would stick with the second gen, but then I can't stand how the 3rd gen look. That's just me though.

Do not fall into this trap. All car sales people do this, same payments do not mean same cost. Push the loan term out, negate that you are 2 years down on your 5 year loan and you could be paying 2x+ as much, but if you are looking at monthly payments you have no clue. Look at the real money you would be forking over and refuse to talk anything about payments. Your tone will change real quick.

I'd say stick with your current truck unless you need a bigger cab.
The dealership isn't calling you to lose money.

Dealerships always need your truck so says the letter. What a great deal they have for you. All they are doing is churning the customer base to increase sales. If you really want a 2016 then sell your 2015 yourself.

Hell to the NO! I had a similar option, but went from a 2006 to a 2013 and have absolutely zero regrets. Should be able to drive it until the Gen 4 comes out and then go though the decision process all over again.

Wise man once say, "Never buy first model year of new truck". Grasshopper say, "But I want new truck now". Wise man say, "Patience Grasshopper, patience. Give them year or two to work out the bugs, then buy new truck". Grasshopper buy new truck anyway. Pretty soon Grasshopper say, "Whoa is me, my truck run like ass"! Wise man say, "DILLIGAF"?
