To SUA, or to SOA, that is the question.

Alright so on my quest to build an overlanding Tacoma with moderate rock crawling abilities I'm at stuck deciding which way to go. But first!

    2016 Taco DCSB TRD-OR

    Planned but not installed/bought:
    King ext coilovers
    Total Chaos UCAs
    King 12" 2.5 Smoothies (rear)
    Custom build deaver pack
    BAMF relocation (SOA)
    Method NV 16" 0mm offset
    KO2 295/75r16

    Approximate 2.5-3" lift overall.

I will be doing shock relocation in the rear to fit the smoothies.

When I first talked to a shop about relocation they heavily insisted that if I want to get the full travel out of the shocks while keeping my truck level I had to go SUA. On Tacomaworld I've seen loads of photos and read build threads on relocation and SOA that show full 12" travel on a level truck. Am I taking crazy pills or what?

I would prefer going SOA (and shackle flip) to keep the ground clearance. And save a few bucks.

I know with SUA there's less chance for axle wrap and the up travel might be slightly better. What I don't know is if all the labor and cost is worth going SUA. If it's only the slightest improvement then it's not worth it to me.

    Advice? Thanks homies.
