Thoughts on removing the stock sway bar(s)? Would it be worth it to remove them for light off-roading purposes?

I don't corner hard when driving on the road, so I'm seriously thinking about it.

Took mine off and have never looked back. On road driving with it off is not bad like everyone thinks. Off road is the only way to go imo.

After reading through that entire other thread I think I'm going to take mine off this weekend. I have stock OR suspension for now but drive my truck like an effing truck, so hopefully I'll love the difference.

i run without a sway bar on my 2013 TRD OR 4x4 stock coils in the front 5100's at 1.75, 2in AAL in the rear. Took it off and never looked back, MUCH smoother on and off road as it allows the suspension to actually work!

Hmm will I need to remove my AllPro IFS skid to get it the sway bar off? Hope not because that wasn't exactly fun to get on.

yeah you will. just start undoing the skid and the lil cross members that bolt on, your life will be much easier.

I have an aftermarket skid but those cross members were removed so it would fit. It looks like I might be able to slide it out. Just waiting for a warmer day to try.

I have the same AP ifs skid. I think it will slip out.... I did it the last time I swapped my coilovers in. But I may have disconnected the tierod ends first. I cannot remember if I removed the sway bar first or the tierod ends... I do think there is enough room thou. It may be a bit like a puzzle..

You know what.. I am almost positive. If you jack the whole front of the truck up and remove the front wheels then yes it should slip out.

Cool, I'll give it a shot soon. I'd much rather take the front wheels off than mess with that skid plate.

I just did it. I can confirm you need to either remove the skid or disconnect the tierod ends first before it will come out.

I just disconnected the tie rod ends and turned it up and it slipped out. I did not remove the skid.

After about a week of driving without the front sway bar I have to say I'm glad I took it off. I drive my truck like a truck so barely noticed the extra lean around corners. What I do notice is how much softer many of the road bumps feel since the shock isn't translating as much between sides. Plus there's 20-30 less pounds I have weighing me down in front. :)

I don't have mine on and I think the truck handles just fine... but, then again...I bought my truck without it. A buddy of mine was kind enough to offer his when I asked if I should put one one, but, I never took him up on the offer as I don't think I need it.
