It will tow it fine. The big question is how far.

Hello steadfast. It will most likely be towed withing 20 miles about 4 times a year but may want to tow it up to 500 to 600 miles once a year also because a good friend has a campground near myrtle beach

A 2990 dry weight trailer with a 3500 lb tow capacity is cutting it closer than I like. You will be well over 3000 lbs and maybe over your 3500 lb limit with anything in the trailer. And you still have to account for the weight of passengers and cargo in the truck.

Where do I find the actual weight of a 2013 tacoma sr5 access cab. I know the gvw but not the actual weight of the truck

Towing a trailer to the max rating of a Tacoma I think is realistic for trucks being used as work vehicles . (Single driver pulling heavy cargo on trailer). For a family vehicle towing a TT, I think a lighter trailer is more suitable because you will need to leave room for your wife and kids, plus your supplies and fuel.

Thanks guys I found out today from a toyota dealer that between the weight of the truck(3335) plus an estimate of 500 to 600lbs for driver passenger and luggage, it only leaves room to tow about 2500 to 2600lbs before you reach maximum combination weight so it is not actually plausible to ever pull the 3500 tow capacity without being liable if something was to happen
