Let it idle for a few seconds while I put on the seatbelt, plug in the music etc, then drive partial throttle and under 3k rpm for around 10-15min until engine's at full temp. At that point I'm on the highway anyway...

Just frigging drive the damn thing!

I have customers complain over the winter months about poor fuel economy. I'll always respond and ask the same questions.. Winter fuel.. And how long do you let it idle..?

No point letting modern engines idle until warm.

I start and drive. I go gentle until the water temp comes up to normal. But I go.
It still is not up to full operating temp, that takes 15-30 minutes of highway driving. Idling g doesn’t really warm the fluids up well and just waste gas and runs the engine longer with a lower temperature oil sump..which causes more wear. Start it and drive gently. By the time most of you are out of your neighborhoods you are good to go.

Depends on what you order from the sex robot factory. This unit looks like it has some custom features.

Right?? Must be that "winter gas" lol

I just start my truck and drive. I let my Harley warm up for a minute or so in the winter, but that shit is old tech and harkey oil pressure is scary low. Last vehicle I let warm up before driving was 79 ranchero. Pretty much had to let the choke run its cycle before you could drive it without it stalling. I dont see the point in modern vehicles

You live in Texas, it doesn’t get cold enough for your truck to ever need to warm up.

Warm up bad, 30 seconds and then go. It’s been that way for years.

    Somewhere in the Mojave Desert...
    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly a 1998 SR5 PU, 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
Why? The engine is running either way...

More than 275k trouble free miles on all the rest of my Toys, not anticipating any issues doing the same with my current one. I just don’t gun it or push it hard (live on flats, but maybe would warm it up a bit if I lived on steep hills or in snow again).

I wait until my AFRs read a steady 14.7 on the gauge, takes about ~10 - 15 seconds. No idea if it really matters or not but makes me feel better about it and satisfies my ocd.
