To winch or not to winch?

So I ordered a SSO Slimline bumper and eagerly await the install. I ordered it with the winch line opening, but also the blocker plate, as I originally wasn't planning to install a winch.

Now I'm starting to question whether I should just install one now (well, in 6 to 8 weeks)

    Pros:
Looks cool, it's a useful tool if needed, easier to install now vs later.

    Cons:
Added weight, slight poser styling and extra cost.

I do some off-roading, mostly in the snow. I've been stuck before when solo and a winch would have saved me hours of waiting for someone to pass by. But honestly, use of a winch would be infrequent to possibly never. I've always been a fan of the motto, it's better to have a tool and not need it vs need it and not have it.

    Thoughts? Useful insight?

I would get it and try to find ways to put it to use.

There’s nothing poser about having a winch. Use it one time to help yourself or someone else out a bad spot and it’s worth it.

Although I have a 1st gen, I installed a Superwinch Tiger Shark 9500 in my rig. I had the bumper on the truck when I bought it, sans winch. Time came for new headlights and the bumper had to come off to get the grill off to replace the headlights. I figured what the heck. I may or may not use it. So far I have pulled a tree stump and a few bushes with it. If I ever get off road again, possibilities are endless!
The TS 9500 was $499 shipped off ebay from 4Wheel Parts and has synthetic rope and all you need. I did need to relocate the controller. It was easy. I bought a wireless remote from Amazon for $16.00. It works great!
