So I had work at 11:00am today, so I had to leave around 7 this morning...No sign of him, but he DID use his litter box we left for him...more good news.

He seems to like this guys house, and with a $500 reward, we're hoping the next time he shows himself to him, he'll throw Ramsey in the carrier and lock it up, then give us a call to head up to Olancha for our (hopefully) last time.

What an ordeal...I'm writing a book about this after I get him back.

Does the guy have food set out for him? And calling Ramsey by his name? It might make him feel more comfortable and come by the house more often.

Yes and Yes. He has food and water inside his house, actually. He has a doggy-door that allows Ramsey to come and go as he pleases...hopefully he'll venture indoors again. He was found sleeping on the guys bed at 3:00am, just like he did at our home for a year!

Wow I can only imagine what you're going through. The persistence seems to be paying off. As soon as he feels comfortable somewhere I bet he stays put and you'll have him back.

I do too...he's so close I can smell him sometimes. I actually heard him meow last night and I couldn't help but smile and shed some tears. It's amazing how resilient these animals are, even when placed in a hostile environment in which they have no training in how to survive.

I miss my little bud. This is my how he shows my mom his love :)

Yea right and if he runs off and lays down somewhere he will never EVER come back again - because of fright or because he became someone's lunch.

BAD BAD BAD idea! Why mess with him if he's making progress?

Agree with this. It will scare the hell out of him and then it's all over.

Moving the humane traps to inside the guy's house and yard where Ramsey has been used to eating (and making sure the man doesn't leave other sources of food out!) is a good plan, I think. It sounds like he will soon warm up to the guy and be captured, though!
