I am heading to Nashville to pick up my new Taco. Anything that I should be looking for before signing the dotted line?

yes, I typically do not buy extended warranties...I am paying cash with a check in hand...sorry, no more money lol

Congratulations! But oh man, where to start?

1. Check bed to cab, hood to fenders and rear bumper to bed alignment before you leave the lot.
2. Ask them if and to take off any cheap alarms they installed in it, and to properly cover any tapped wires they did if they installed such an alarm.
3. Ask them to take off the ugly dealer badge!
4. Ask them to top off the grease in the Zerks on the front drive shaft if it a 4x4.
5. Check for any TSB’s on your truck before going there, or on the Toyota website once you get the ViN number.
6. Have fun driving it!
7. Get an windshield ice scraper!

 

it's not so clear with the '19s now, is it? do they have the same issues?

OP the point is if your motor seems weak or unresponsive, or your trans is shifting weird/too much, etc, then that's the solution. i have an MT and the performance is amazing, the motor is unleashed. you wouldn't totally know it unless you try the tune, but the 2GR-FKS motor in this thing is significantly muted from the factory.

Make sure everything is there (extra keys, floor mats etc) When I picked mine up there were no tie down cleats in the bed so I asked the salesman and he said they weren’t included. I told him they were and they’re listed on the window sticker.......he went and installed them for me. Not sure if it was an innocent mistake or whether they get sold out the back door later.
