They’re pretty much the same, however some people are satisfied with the factory tune. It’s just a matter of preference/awareness

Yeah you have to ask the right moderator. I have changed mine 3 times, depends on which NASCAR driver I'm going to root for. LOL!

I can say yes, my 19 is no different and the tranny does the same old stuff. They won’t even apply the TSB because it says on it that it’s for 18s and older, which they’re right as it does. They act like the 19 fixes all problems at the service department but you’ll quickly see that’s not the case on the first, even small overpass hill, you go over on the highway. Getting my OVTune soon so not worried about it.

Make sure they check the tranny fluid though. Mine was shifting pretty harsh till it warms up and the Svc department said they saw nothing wrong with it which is the usual tacoma answer. Just ended up buying a quart of tranny fluid and did a top off via the DIY that somebody posted. Took about 3/4 of a quart via the procedure and no cold harsh shifts since.

I traded it off last 19 OCT 18. Missed driving a truck. LOL! Here it is sitting next to my '19 SR the day I traded her in.

I done fine with the CR-V for 7 months then I had the chance to get a desk for a reduced price. Had no way to haul it so I got another Tacoma. I'll have a truck till i die.

If you don't plan on keeping the fugly front license plate holder/frame, ask the dealership not to install it. Sometimes they make large cracked holes in your bumper which are an issue if you want to mount your front license place in a different location, or eliminate it if your state allows that.
