The guy was taking a swing at another officer with a lethal object. If that object happens to be a sword, axe, crowbar, or a damn shovel is of no consequence. The K9 officer was justified. Period.

Somewhat sarcastic, they are trained to shoot more than once. More than twice is my point. That will typically kill.

The idea that they should have taken a leg out is maddening.

I'd be stoked if my sammich came with Light Emitting Diodes.

I could use them in my dome and reverse lights

looked like a good shoot to me..

...suspect had an axe, fended off a non-lethal takedown attempt (taser), ...made an aggressive move w/ axe at a cop - that, son, will get you shot...

oh, and the cop wasn't trigger happy, they tried to stay clear, and taser, ...you don't second guess someone like that who's hopped up on god knows what, making a move at you w/ an axe...

Yes, taking out a leg is retarded lol!

I've seen videos and been in class where stories were told to me by police officers who have been involved in shootings...one or two hits does not take down a person.

One officer that I know personally hit a suspect over 15 times after being shot himself and the suspect still was able to get into a car and drive it.

I'm pretty sure that everyone here who is coming down on the cops, calling this excessive force, murder and the likes would have a very different opinion if they had any idea what Monterey Park was like...

I once popped into a Monterey Park restaurant with some friends, late after a night of drinking. I saw some cops walking out, but didn't think much of it considering the area we were in. Honestly, I was happy to see that there were cops nearby just in case.

Well the host seated our party and I headed to the restrooms to wash my hands. I saw why the cops were there a minute ago, the hallway leading to the restrooms was taped off and the walls were splattered with fresh blood and bloody hand prints. The floors had bloody shoe prints all over as well.

Turns out some kid was stabbed pretty badly back there just a short while before we got to the joint. But do they close down the restaurant? No. They continue seating people and tell customers that the restrooms are out of order.

That should give you some idea of why the kids videotaping were laughing and things turned out the way they did in the parking lot. Just a different fucking breed of animal in some parts

Well we could have talked through the PM system, but I guess you don't want to do that. Please elaborate on "crooks don't have rights". Do you understand what rights are?

No, you shoot to end the threat. The side effect of the shooting to end the threat, sometimes, is death.

As I said above, I was being sarcastic. It doesn't come across well.
