very good post and point, in the civilian world pointing a loaded gun at somebody with intent to use is deadly force, and would be an acceptable situation to shoot for self defense, the officer should also of course react the same way. If somebody loads a gun and points it at the officer he should have every green light to go ahead and shoot to subdue the threat.

Kinda sucks somwone had to lose their life, but the cops were doing their job. When I took my CHL class, I was told to "If they are within 5 feet... Unload til they drop." Cop did just that.

 

I also questioned the second set of five. but if you look closer the SOB was still on his feet. There would be no way to tell if he was trying to run or still attacking. Judging by everything else he was doing and the fact that he tried to take a swing I could assume he was still a threat when still on his feet...

Just saw this video and the news,they're saying that the suspect took two swings at the officers with that object.I don't see that in the video,he was about to swing when he got got.Ofcourse the news are not showing what these guys captured on video but either way I believe he had it coming but 10 shots dammmm.

Sorry. My meter is broken. Regardless, no one can really say what they'd do except the two officers that were face to face with a crazed ax wielding suspect. The seemingly reasonable thing to do would be to open fire.

 

i think the cops did the right thing, i wouldn't want to be decapitated by an axe, id unload on that SOB

Unless your a ninja like me, its hard to defend against someone who can withstand a taser like that not to add that he obviously had a damn axe. If someone attacked your mother and father with that i would hope that you would have the common sense to defend them.
