Yesterday the Toyota battery in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab decided to not hold a charge. Manual trans, I bumped it twice and got it home. Checked the electrolyte levels and put the multimeter on it which read 10.7 v.. Hooked a trickle charger and charged overnight. This morning, after the surface charge depleted, about 10.8v, . Got it started and Alternator is out-putting a steady 14v.

Under the battery bracket I see about 4 years on the 84 month warranty. A phone call to check prices and I am off to the Sahara branch of Auto-Nation Scion/Toyota dealership in Vegas.

Auto-Nation Service took me in quickly without an appointment. Exemplary service and it took about 30 minutes for the process. 25% warranty left plus $40 install and inspect charge got me out the door for $134.

I could have replaced with a comparable rated Duralast Platinum AGM battery at Autozone and it would have cost me about $190.

If I didn't have a longstanding independent Toyota mechanic is town I might give Auto-Nation Service Dept. a chance.

At 49K i am past all the factory service checks for a while. FWIW, I am not a fan of dealerships.

I know. Only way they wanted to honor the warranty. I took it out in my parking lot in about 10 minutes and it was my first time on this Toyota.

At least no 8% tax on labor
